Bigger question.

Horvat comes in and plays good enough to stick with the team after his 9 games.

Who gets moved?

Hansen, or just plain sent down. He might have a NTC but I can see him on the out side looking in. He has NO finish. They can improve with the big body of Hovart.

Kassian may have been demoted to the fourth line, but then it seemed to me he proceeded to get that whole line promoted after that shift drawing a penalty. We need a line of Matthias - Richardson - Kassian back, they did great last year, or put Kassian with Horvat.

Sedins - Vrbata

Burrows - Bonino - Higgins

Vey - Horvat - Kassian

Matthias - Richardson - Dorsett

Assuming Bo can be an above average faceoff man, this gives us 3 players who can consistently win draws in Sedin, Horvat and Richardson. I also think the playmaking abilities of all 3 Vey, Horvat and Kassian would make for some beauty plays/goals.

Your wingers are on the wrong side. That lineup would not work

We have a weird dynamic going on with our bottom 9.

None of the lines are good enough to be a consistent offensive threat, yet none of them are good enough to be a solid checking line either.

So far the Sedin line is getting leaned on too much to carry the defensive load, so if Horvat comes in I would think it'd be with the hopes of creating a solid checking line.

Matthias & Vey have both been ineffective playing anywhere other then at center, so I'd think it has to be one of those 2 sitting out.

Vey has some skill, but hasn't looked strong enough. Matthias has strength & size, but really lacks consistency.

Sedin Sedin Vrbata

Higgins Bonino Burrows

Richardson Horvat Hansen?

Dorsett Matthias Kassian

or

Sedin Sedin Vrbata

Higgins Bonino Burrows

Richardson Vey Kassian

Dorsett Horvat Hansen?

I don't think we need to move anyone. I actually like the idea of having a guy who can play, sitting out & being hungry for the opportunity to get back in & prove himself.

Also, if they do want to move a player like Matthias or Hansen, then I'd think they would keep playing him in the hopes of his play improving to the point where he actually has some value.

I agree that a Matthias/Richardson/Kassian line makes sense give how well they played together last year. The have enough size and toughness to be a 4th line can provide enough secondary scoring and defense to be a good 3rd line.

As for the faceoff circle, Bonino is not bad either.

If Vey and Horvat play together each can take strong side face-offs. So the line up looks like this:

Sedin/Sedin/Vrbata

Higgins/Bonino/Burrows

Horvat/Vey/Dorsett

Matthias/Richardson/Kassian

Not sure which of the last two lines is the "3rd" line and which is the "4th" line. But that would give the Canucks and excellent bottom six to go with a very good top line and a decent 2nd line.

Nobody's going anywhere for a while. We're rolling 14/7 remember... Expect to see Dorsett/Hansen/Mattias sit out in the revolving door of 4th liners. Inevitably injuries will happen, and you'll be happy we have Hansen/Mattias for depth.

This. What the frig is the hurry?

I really doubt they want Horvat on the wing. He will start as the 4C. Let's see how he does against good teams for a while.

First line is not changing, that is a given. WD has said numerous times he likes the BONINO line so I do not expect that to change. Vey is creative center but struggles on the draws, so I see RICHARDSON staying on his left wing to help with the weak side draws. I think they would like to see KASSIAN succeed on that line so iexpect him to stay there. I would not sit MATTHIAS either as he is a big fast body that can support HORVAT on the draws. So it's between HANSEN or DORSET on who sits.

SEDIN SEDIN VRBATA

HIGGINS BONINO BURROWS

RICHARDSON VEY KASSIAN

MATTHIAS HORVAT DORSET/HANSEN
