Rollieo Del Fuego
Miller looked better then Lu ever did in a shootout,,,Bieksa is still Bieksa which isn't a good thing... Agreed but he looked like Lou on a bad day for the game. I am sure, also like Lou, he will be better next time out.
amitriptyline
Miller had a bit of a "Luongo" game last night, but he was solid in the later part and the shootout. He's got a few wrinkles to iron out in his play, but I have full confidence he will get better in time. He's adjusting to a new team and new goaltending coach and its understandable that there might be some difficulty there initially. I think he's gonna turn out really well, I'm glad we have him. 6string
A ridiculous entry for an early season controversy, reaching hard for dissent and player evaluation only two games in and by mentioning Kelser we also have managerial problems and i don't know how in the world you can over - coach playing four lines and six d-men. lol. Dude take a much needed vacation or endorse the Leafs or Oilers for teams you wanna bash or suffer with, your article is both pre-mature and immature! Craig Ferguson
So what I've seen is a defence still getting warmed up, I expect to see them improve in the next few games, a powerplay that's now useful, and a team now playing with heart. I know we played edmonton last night, but it still takes something special to come back from 2 goals down 2 times, we never gave up it was a good game to watch. 70seven
that save that Miller made in the 3rd off of Taylor Hall.... Thats a goal if Luongo was still here...lol. Honestly the only goal I though he shouldve had was the Yakupov goal. Wouldve been nice to see him come up with a save on Joensuu, but cant fault the goalie on a breakaway goal.... Those goals also both involved poor reads by Zack Kassian. THis guy constantly makes poor choices in all 3 zones with and without the puck. Both he and Hansen have been bad despite ZK scoring a goal. Thats 3 coaches in 3 seasons that have quickly demoted Kass to the 4th line. Hopefully he turns it around in a hurry.
RUPERTKBD
Lack is not clearly as good as Miller. What are you basing that on, his 3 pre-season games? Eddie Lack got destroyed at the end of last season. His save percentage was brutal. He is too young and he will get owned in the playoffs. Ryan Miller is a ****ing savior. Stop spreading trash rumours about a goaltender controversy. You do not want Eddie Lack in net in the playoffs against Anaheim or Chicago. Totally disagree. Lack played very well last season. Well enough to supplant Luongo as the starter. He only started to wear down late in the season because of a ridiculous workload, made necessary by the fact that Markstrom was not up to the task of starting a game with possible playoff implications. To be honest, I think that Miller has been average at best for the first 5 periods of this season. He really only showed his true value in the third period against the Oilers, with a couple of late, game saving stops.
stawns
Miller is a better goalie than Lack. Regardless, the reason the Lu/Schnieds tandem became a 'debacle' was due to the bush NHLeague that changed Lu's contract. He became impossible to trade. The Canucks often come out sluggish in the 1st, so no...no evidence of over coaching there. Kass has started slow (just like last year) and has not played well enough for the top lines. Chances are, he will improve as the season wears on. What has Kesler got to do with anything? As Linden has said numerous times..."we now have players that want to be here." he scored in the first game and was a force on the puck last night. How has he started slow? I'd say he let in 1 questionable goal, the other three were pretty much unstoppable. He made several critical saves when the team needed him to make them.......something Luongo rarely did. It was quite refreshing to see the Nucks dominate zone time and then the opposition NOT score on their next shot.

Denguin
Miller only let in one softie last night, as far as I thought, anyway. He was CLUTCH late in the game and in the shootout, and that is what he was brought into do... To make the saves when we absolutely needed them. Lack is still young and has much to learn. I'm much more confident in Miller than Lack when the pressure to perform goes through the roof in tight games.

I thought the Oilers were going to score everytime they came down after being pinned in there zone for a long period of time.

Bure to Mogilny
I'm hoping the goaltending situation might become more of an equal duo rather than a clear starter & backup I a gree infact why not play more games of who is hotter and hoping both around 35-50 games this year or whatever adds up to 82 but close. Miller is playing good then i thought and i have a confidense in him that i lost in Luongo and as everyone knows Lu is my fave player of all time so it means a lot to me of saying that about Miller so far
