snucks
Well the Canucks have had plenty of goal tending controversy's over the years. Over 40 yrs in fact. The concept of a number one and a backup bit them many times.
bp79
Some things never change eh? Iv'e said it before and i'll say it again.A few dumb ass fans make us appear bad as a whole. Everything we have hoped for so far has happened. (except kesler doing well) lol. Yet some tards still find a reqason to poke holes. The twins and vrbata are doinjg awesome. burr bones edler vey brad all look good Edler looks lioke 3 seasons ago and miller was good when he needed to be For godsake lets complain when we actually have a reason to. sinphase
The upcoming schedule is quite lucky. A whole weak off for the team to iron out its wrinkles before playing the oilers again to see if the changes were effective and the onto stiffer competition that's still not too stiff, against dallas, tampa and colorado, which will be our biggest test so far. No reason to panic yet. Lots of time to make improvements.

bluesman60
After 2 games the only question should be ' Can the Canucks get their swagger back after being stifled by Tortorella's coaching. The PP needs to bury their chances but I think that will come once players start taking the shot instead of passing to the 'new guy' all the time (it gets to predictable). The lines are still adjusting to their new teammates and once everyone settles in this team has the ability to become a scoring leader again. They started to 'buzz' in the Oiler end of the ice during the 3rd period of last game and that is a good sign.
bluesman60
Can't say miller had a great game. Solid when it mattered however. Canucks d is lacking and so is their 2 line... Maybe a couple deals or package deal to be made? After 2 games? Really! You want a package deal and blow it up after 2 freakin' games?
Canuck Surfer
I'm hoping the goaltending situation might become more of an equal duo rather than a clear starter & backup I concur. Plus one! Miller looked better then Lu ever did in a shootout,,,Bieksa is still Bieksa which isn't a good thing... I noticed this as well.

Baggins
thats what st louis thought too.. adn then they realised he wasnt an upgrade from elliot but i guess people forgot about miller being the weak link for st louis in the playoffs... Yet in his 40 games with bottom feeding Buffalo he had a .923 S%.
Baggins
When you replace 25% of your team there's going to be some gaffs as players get familiar with each other. This includes the goalie. What I liked about the Edm game is down two goals twice they never quit and the Sedins/Vrbata are looking really good this quickly. Good signs. Give them 20 games before declaring busts. amitriptyline
Let's not go down that path again, especially after two bloody games. We already went that route with Luongo and what good did that do? It just makes it worse. Let's try to hold off on the knee jerk reactions, drama BS, criticism and the controversy starting this time. It will go a long way if we do. Let's try to turn a new leaf and support our new starting goalie for a change and show some faith. Its hard sometimes when things go wrong but if you want to get the best out of someone its better to give support instead of criticism. If we treat the players with respect and show undying support, it will make them more motivated to return the favour by playing their best. Benchsplinters
Why do some who claim Lack is too young and Cory was too young support unconditionaly goalies who became starters and pretty young ages themselves? What age is a good age for a goalie to be a starter? 26 too young? After 26 you are pretty much a career backup. Miller is a good goalie, I am not against the signing for ability but wanted that cap spent elsewhere as I have every confidence in Lack. The team will give Miller over 60 starts this season no matter how he plays so there will be no Schneids/Lu Lack/Lu situation this time. You appear to be more worried about it than Eddie is,

It is time to be less critical and more optimistic about the team. We are two games into the season, have won both our games yet, there are those who would complain about the possibility that Ryan Miller had an extra cup of coffee before the game that made him jittery and caused him to let in a soft goal during the warm up. Those same fans find nothing right in life. I hate constant bitchers. They don't even have a good outlook about themselves and they constantly bring others down with their negative spew. chrisbanks
St. Louis got shut out three times in their last six regular season games. Was that Miller's fault as well?well i wasnt even talking about wins and losses.... just his plummeting S%. and getting booed by the st louis fans and the non stop reports that came flying out of st louis about how miller wasnt what was advertised..... all good goalies on bad teams have great S%... they faced a ton of shots its when goalies come from that type of environment and come to a team that is actually good, then how do you perform when your not getting as much work and can you stay focused when you dont face a shot for 5+ minutes.. he stuggled staying in the game mentally in st louis big time because of it.... Spitfire_Spiky
While I would not say there is goalie controversy yet or that there will even be one at all but Miller has not played that consistently within the games he's played. He has looked both shaky( ie: the Byron goal against Cal and the Yakupov goal against Edm) and unstoppable at times(Third period against the flames and shootout against Edm). Hopefully this is just an adjustment period as he gets used to how the team plays in front of him. We've been lucky in the first couple games in the sense that we were playing Cal and Edm who we can score goals against but it may be harder to overcome those weak goals if were playing teams like Chi/LA/Ana. snipes2539
Oh typical Canucks fans, always trying to find something wrong. The Canucks battled back not once, not twice, but three times from being down two goals. Last year that would never of happened, even against a team like the Oilers. I just love the way the team is competing again, yes it's only been 2 games so i'm cautiously optimistic, but i'm still optimistic. It's a feel good team again! And let's say it falls apart mid-way through the season and we start tumbling down the standings and we finish really low, well then we have McDavid there waiting for us, I doubt this season will ever go as bad as the dark Messier/Keenan era so just focus on the positives. Refreshingly, there are quite a few positives to focus on this year.
