n00bxQb
Bieksa -4, is he worth 5mi/yr? he sucks Ah yes, +/-, clearly the end-all, be-all of how much a player is worth. Maybe we should've acquired Jeff Schultz in 2010 after a +50 season and locked him up long-term for big money. Also, you can hardly blame Bieksa on any of those goals. First goal, Burrows tips it in his own net. Bieksa makes the right play by preventing the puck carrier from driving to the net. Second goal, the knob of Miller's stick knocks it in on the off-speed one-timer from the half boards. Bieksa right where he should be. If anyone is to blame, it's Miller for overplaying it (though he was obviously expecting a harder shot). Third goal, Hamhuis turns the puck over for a breakaway. Bieksa gets back to interrupt the breakaway, then takes the guy in front, but the forwards are late coming back. Fourth goal, Bieksa has body position on Cole, Lack makes the save, it deflects off of Cole's stick and in. Good stat-sheet assessment, though ... TheTruthHurts
Yea I think the score makes the game look worse than it was. Offense looked good.
KassianBeastMode
Yea I think the score makes the game look worse than it was. Offense looked good. but defense continues to look awful as a group...really miss the way we were hard to play against in 2011...this team seems to have a collective brain fart in its own end / break outs / etc.... upside is its coachable and correctable...and we need to play that way to win, probably why willie is showing some frustration not sure if anyone else saw it today but tonight willie had the look torts had on his face many a night last year. 24K PureCool
I just wish that by the middle of the second period in St.Louis we don't get blown out 5-0. Don't want to come out of my midterm with my Blues' friend smirking at me.
The Big Luongo
i dont like blaming refs but the dorsett interference call changed everything. that was a WTF call Dorsett's call might have been a bit weak as was the reffing against us for most of the night but this guy needs to sit he's taken far too many stupid penalties. I also thought Burrows was piss poor again tonight this guy has to find some consistency otherwise thought most of the Canucks played a good game earning several scoring chances. Other then that I thought the Canucks outchanced Dallas about 2-1 and I would chalk this game up as a fluke for Dallas the Canucks deserved a better fate. canucklehead44
Canucks played well overall, one of the strangest games I've seen. They looked great out of the gate and were controlling the play then Dallas scored a lucky first goal. All the bounces went their way, but the Canucks never really folded and kept playing hard. I thought Richardson played a strong game. Even +/-, 1 assists, 6 shots on goal, 53% FO, and killed over 5 minutes in penalties. 4th line looked good, the 2nd line, defense, and Miller were pretty weak. Bure to Mogilny
We outshot them. That's gotta be some type of moral victory right? Yah and read the OP we won most of the game so go forward with some goods. Hansen and Kassian are roleing witch we need. Top line is good Vrbata on pace for 66 goals and is not to slowing down. Good stuff but bad game with lots of holes and massive problems

Riviera82
My question is, is Lehtonen really that good or are the Canucks just firing blanks? 46 shots against him in a road game and we only get 3 goals. How many "hot goalies" did we run into last year? Too many if I recall correctly; I think the Canucks are just simply lacking talent, especially if they want to play an exciting brand of hockey this season. I predict there will be several more wipe-outs against us this year unfortunately.

Tortorella's Rant
In response to the 1040 poll about juggling up the second line. I'm all for splitting up the twins if it means getting the second line going. The twins have demonstrated they don't need each other to score. And the second line doesn't need more time to form chemistry because they can't. That or we're expecting too much from them. You've got one guy who was brought here to be a fourth liner, third at best. The other guy has only ever thrived offensively under the twins and the newest addition hasn't produced more than 50 points, and put more than 40 once. That's a pretty pathetic second line if you ask me. Plus, two of those guys have been on this team for years, so what's the problem? So who else can you put there not named Sedin or Vrbata that is going to help make that line a real difference?

HerrDrFunk
Well, we got blown out but I do have to say this: I was more entertained by this game than 90% of the games last season. It was refreshing to see the Canucks play hard even when they had absolutely no reason to keep doing so.

I swear, last year they would just give up after being down a goal or two. Atleast now i can watch games like this to the bitter end.
Nuxfanabroad
^Last yr we'd just all be lookin fwd to the post game presser, instead.. :^) So now we know we've got a few more beauts in the system(from 2014 draft), & if we continue middling along, we should be adding to our prospects stash handsomely, come June. We've all gotta stay positive & enjoy 'the process'.

FireGillis
Not surprised at the result. This is what our team looks like when not playing against edmonton and calgary and those wins were smoke screens that just proved we can beat bad teams. I expect more of the same against st. louis. We're still a one line team with the sedins and bonino isn't a proven 2nd line player, but just a 2nd liner on our team by default. We have one 1st line, two 3rd lines and one 4th line. Our defense also isn't as good as it was in the past.
