Drewismyname
So i only watch hockey. I have no need for tv other than canucks games. Being out of province game centre live appealed to me. So i register on nhl.com. Everything is good i get the confirmation email etc and im stoked to watch the game when i go home. I get home and it wont log me in. Apparently i registered with an american ip therefore bypassing rogers? Apparently all gcl purchases now must go through rogers. Oh and i subscribe to fido and live in regina saskatchewan so having an american ip is nothing short of mysterious. So being a younger guy with some debt i use prepaid credit cards. Im not a fan of spending money i dont have. So i work for a month after the first rogers slap in the face to afford the full price of gcl ( nhl.com offers it in payments and rogers doesnt) and grab a prepaid visa from 7/11. Turns out that while nhl.com supports prepaid visa, which is how i paid when i was cut off because of my apparent us ip, rogers doesnt. I am currently a fido customer and will be using bell after my contract is over. I post this as a warning for any potential rogers customers. Rogers is just a middleman who the nhl should have never dealt with.
Monty
Many business' don't support prepaid credit cards. They have their reasons.
Drewismyname
The sheer volume of effort i have put forth to have gcl take my money Is beyond the grasp of any human being to realize. Because i dont have a credit card i cant ourchase gcl. If i lived in america, i could. Problem: rogers.
Drewismyname
Choosing to take money that is accounted for over choosing to take money that isnt is beyond mysterious. Theres even a box to check if you want to renew the subscription or not so it cant be about that.

Grapefruits
Open a CIBC account.. put money in.. use their visa debitcard to make online purchase. Why do that? It's much easier to blame Rogers instead of stopping to think that there is a valid reason why they don't accept prepaid credit cards.
lx Birdie xl
Was just giving an option. As you can use the debit card to make online purchases like a credit card. Can transfer money over and buy what ever.

Can transfer money over and buy what ever. Basically any major bank has this now and it's usually free to set up. TD,RBC,Scotia,CIBC,HSBC ect. He probably won't even need to switch banks or open any "new" accounts to do it.

Grapefruits
So english isnt the cdc language? I have said rogers doesnt accept prepaid credit cards. We get it. Drewismyname
Who is we? Who exactly are you speaking on behalf of sir?
BeefcakeBo
So english isnt the cdc language? I have said rogers doesnt accept prepaid credit cards. It's not a prepaid card. It's a debit card for your checking account at a bank, with a credit card number and ccd security number and expiration date so you can make online or credit card type purchases with it, if you don't want to use a Visa or Mastercard or a prepaid card. Drewismyname
The point im raising is the one that asked why money accounted for seems to be by rogers less valuable than money not paid for. Its a logic fail in any situation i can think of.
Drewismyname
So you are claiming sir that rogers accepts this form of payment?
Drewismyname
In my dealings with rogers i asked if there was any option other than paying with a standard credit card and was told no. The posts in this threa suggesting other methods while mocking me are nulled by this information. Rogers is a joke and their emergence into the scene has done nothing but hinder hockey fans from watching hockey.
nucklehead
This couldn't go in the existing Rogers bashing thread?
Drewismyname
I apologize if my thinking that a fan of this team since i was seven watching the 94 series while my dad snored away has some sort if backing with his fellow peers. Nhl.com accepts prepaid visas. Rogers doesnt. There is a company putting roadblocks in front of fellow fans and whzt do you supposed canucks fans do? You make fun of me. Drewismyname
So a corporation accepts my registration and then another nullifies it saying i had a us ip when i live in regina sk and this is a molehill? So why would you take it upon yourself to be the figurehead for a molehill sir?
