Buffalo leading Toronto 2-0 and have an edge in shots (albeit a close one) at 14-11.

On a side note, Aaron Ekblad is having a hell of a rookie season so far.

14GP 2g 7a 9pts 6PIM +1

Those are pretty impressive stats for any rookie, let alone a defenseman. Believe it or not he is tied with Jokinen for the team lead in scoring. His +/- is second highest among Panthers defenseman, with Willie Mitchell at No.1 (+5). He is averaging 21:50 TOI and has been under 20 minutes only twice so far.

Filip Forsberg is probably leading the early-Calder race by a good margin, but considering the circumstances Ekblad is definitely in the mix too.

3-0 now.

After the loss to Pitts yesterday and the game today, they follow up the month with games against the Preds, Pens, Red Wings, Bolts and Caps.

They'll be under .500 by the end of November with the city in an uproar and the season slipping away. The coach and GM will both be gone by Christmas is my bet. Good times.

BTW…. why don't we have a Leafs thread this year? I miss watching the reactions to the Leaf's annual collapse in those/

The only thing that sucks is that they're going to land a high draft pick in this year's Mega-Draft. Someone trade for their 1st rounder quick!
