Nucksfollower1983
So far this season the 2nd power play unit has not been producing. Would people here agree that it could be time for a bit of a shake up? Here is a set up I would like to see them try if Jensen is still with the team when Kassian comes back from injury. Jensen-Bonino-Kassain Bieksa-Weber thoughts and suggestions?

canuktravella
not sure why every yr the second unit pp is so bad hamhuis weber burrows and higgins shouldnt get a minute of pp time they are horrible. double shift edler and tanev at least they are mobile and get shots off. Think outside the box its not working maybe give kassian a shot. sit him in front of net screening goalie and pulling john leclair dirty garbage goals. In my eyes this teams a pretender until they get a mobile ppqb and a mean shutdown guy we have to many top9 forwards and to many dmen that are stagnant trade or waive some assets for what we are missing. ( burrows, hansen, weber, hamhuis, jensen, mattias, richardson) could all go in my eyes give the kids a chance (kassian, vey, horvat, gaunce, kenins, shinkaruk)
Hairy Kneel
I'm all for a 7th defenseman on the 4th line for the PP plus we always get caught shorthande back ther it seems.
Nucksfollower1983
canucktravella I suggested weber because he does have a good shot combined with as you said and I was thinking the same thing. Kassian in front of the net screening hopefully it would generate chances from rebounds and Kassian can get some of those garbage goals and maybe he'll even surprise you and beat the goalie clean Salo style
Baggins
The second pp unit often doesn`t get much time by the time the Sedin line comes off. Last game on one pp they got the final 15 seconds starting in their own end.
shazzam
I would definitely would like to see Kassian given a chance on the PP. Heck give Horvat a shot, it's not like the 2nd unit has done much. We could use an upgrade on the point. Edler is decent but after that the talent really drops off
JeremyCuddles
First unit should have Kassian, plant him in the crease. It has enough passers. Move Vey to the second unit. That way both units have two good play makers. 1st Unit: Sedins 2nd Unit: Vey Bones.
Nix Nihil
I've noticed that Tanev's skating and offensive sneakiness has improved a lot this year. He just hasn't quite converted as much as he'd like. It's fun to see him streak in to make a back door play or see him set up someone else doing the same... DownUndaCanuck
They just lack a true playmaker. Burrows, Bonino and Higgins are so good as a line 5-on-5 because they're all gritty forwards who forecheck hard and play well defensively, then pounce and score opportunistic goals. That's obviously not how powerplays work. That trio lack a playmaker, which is exactly what a good PP needs. Sedin - Sedin - Kassian Edler - Vbrata (set Kassian in front of the net, similar to where Vey was, but closer to the crease and keep Vbrata at a point so he can slide in and shoot every now and then if the twins can't set up Kassian for a quick one timer in the slot) Burrows - Bonino - Vey Hamhuis - Bieksa (Burrows is the net presence here, Vey is the quaterback/playmaker on the half-boards, Bonino skates around to snipe and we have two defencemen shooting for Burrow/Bonino-tips)
