Welcome to New Super Mafia Bros. This is the typical mafia game with special roles and Nintendo characters. (If you don't like Nintendo, you didn't have a childhood. )



What to know(Standard rules)

Mafia is a game of strategy, trust, intuition, risk, and luck.

It is a game between two factions battling to the death for victory. Everyone is either a Townsperson or a Mafia. The Mafia know each other's identities, and work together in a group – once a night, they select a Townsperson to kill. The Townspeople do not know each other's identities, but must debate during the day who might be the Mafia among them, and then vote for someone to lynch. They must root out the Mafia through any information they can gather. There are often special roles that can assist the Townspeople, such as a Sheriff, a Doctor, etc. The winning group is the group left standing when all other members of the opposition have been eliminated.

1) Currently, rounds will end at 9:00 PM PST. (Under other GMs, this may change, although it is usually during late evening Pacific Time.) The GM will update as quickly as possible; please be patient if there is a delay. Zfetch WILL give a full update in the morning at 7. This is to add suspense...well not really, it's due to my schedule. If you guys are being good, I'll update straight up at 9.

2) Once you've been killed off, please do not interfere with the game. Don't post during in-game discussions or loan your opinion to players, not even privately. The only comments you make should be completely off-topic and in no danger of influencing the game in any manner. Please stay honest when conducting private correspondence as well.

3) Please stay active. If you sign up, that means you want to play. If you do not vote at least once every two rounds, you will be killed off for inactivity. If this happens again, you will possibly be suspended for one game. All punishment is at the discretion of the GM.

4) Screenshots of any communication (especially with the GM) are not allowed. If anyone is caught posting screenshots of any form, whether in PM, email, or anything, that player will be banned from at least one game. It is also against the rules to copy/paste any message from the GM. Also, do not invite the GM into any private conversations, unless to prove rule-breaking. The GM is not playing the game, so keep him out of it!

5) If you are lynched, you are allowed last words. But anyone who is killed by any other means does not get last words.

6) Usually, exact numbers of each role are not revealed. But as a general rule of thumb, the Mafia will probably equal about one-third of the total players, and there will only be one of each Special role. This can vary, however.

7) Please avoid editing your posts if at all possible, in order to prevent changing or removing information in old posts. Leeway will be granted if the edit is made within the first 10 minutes after posting; after 10 minutes, there may be punishment (i.e. loss of your lynch vote) at the GM's discretion.

8) The word of the GM is final. If you disagree with something, feel free to say so (privately), but understand that the ongoing game will likely not be altered. And please remain civil if you do have a complaint – remember that the GMs are devoting their own time to running this game for you.

9) Remember, this is just a game! If things start getting heated or personal between players, take a breath and a step back. The GM reserves the right to hand out warnings or further punishment as he sees fit. Just have fun, and don't take it too hard if you get duped during the game! (Some players can be quite tricky!)

Here come the roles. I recommend you read the roles; as it is not a standard game, there are several special roles.

Mafia roles.

Bowser: You are the mafia boss. You are in charge of picking the mafia kill with or without your teammates. Once you die there is NO mafia kill. (Special roles not included)

King Dedede: Once every 2 round you can release Waddle Dees. This means that when investigated you will show up as a regular TP.(i.e: Waluigi)

Peach: Since you are abducted by Bowser, you are mafia. You are an escort in this game. Once every 5 rounds(no typo) you are allowed to target one person. If they are a male character, they catch an STD and will die in round 5,10 and so forth.(Some STD's take time to effect a person)

Boswer Jr: Regular Mafia and son of Bowser.

Wario: You can eat garlic once every 4 rounds. When eaten you can ride on your motorcycle(Safe) and pick one other person to come on the ride.(You or your partner die regardless in a lynch)

Goomba: You can investigate once every 2 rounds. HOWEVER a hit only shows up when Mario. (To even out the power of this, there will be 2 goomba's)

Boo: Once every 2 rounds you may go full-on-ghost. Anything that comes at you will go straight thorugh you.(Kill, Cult recruit, Save) Everything will go through you except for a lynch.

Cult(Luigi's Mansion)

Luigi: Once every round for the first 2 rounds you can recruit a player to join you in your mansion. After the 2nd round you can only recruit once every 2 rounds.

Cult wins, when Majority faction.

TP roles.

Mario: You are able to investigate once every round.(Sheriff-like) Your secret power is when you land on a Goomba, they automatically die.(That's 2/7ths of the Mafia)

Link: This is a mini-vig role. After the 3rd round, you pick up the master sword. From here on you act as a vig, killing once a round.

Pikachu: You can paralyze a player's actions once every 2nd round. They can still talk but all actions(Voting, killing, saving) are blocked.

Waluigi: Regular TP. Try gaining some weight.

Yoshi: Regular TP.(If this game comes back, i'll be sure to make Yoshi have a more significant role)

Funky Kong: You're a regular TP, but at least you're funky!

Daisy: Regular TP.

Chansey: You act as the doctor. You can set a save on one person per round.

Fox: What does the fox say? "Why am I just a regular TP?"

Jigglypuff: You are overshadowed by Kirby. You're just a Regular TP.

Ness; Regular TP.

Lucas: Regular TP

Toad: Once every two rounds you can release spores to save only yourself.(As seen in Super Smash Bros Brawl)

Rosalina: You may double your vote every round, as Luma comes in to assist you.


Mr. Game and Watch: Once in the game you may stop time for a round when you please, at this time all actions for the round stop counting. Example: Zfetch stops time 4 hours before the end of the round(5), Therefore every action by that time can only count. You can also extend time.

Professor Oak: The most useless role in the game. You can't do anything except post this, "There is a time and place for everything but not now" You're basically a regular TP, but you can't even vote. You have to post that once every 2 rounds in order to not get godkilled.

Lost Navi: Your a regular TP now that you're without Link.

Doctor Kawashima: You're a regular TP, who has got one hell of a brain.(From Brain Age)

Serial Killer:

Kirby: You don't care who is TP, Cult or Mafia you just know that you love to eat. Once every round you can eat a person

You are unaligned with either of the factions, you win if you're the last one standing.(Serial Killer)

Pro's: It CAN be a killfest.

Cons: You're going to die immediately, and knowing other people they can find out your teammates pretty easily.

There are so many alternatives I can do, So I shall erect a poll.

Edit: Nevermind, I see how a smart person could make it extremely OP.

Don't forget Ganondorf is a fairly strong character in-game. (Trying to keep this realistic enough so it is enjoyable.)

The Dark Cloud can now instead kill 2 people and heal 1 dark(Mafia) ally.

I think with so many roles that only take effect/start a good number of rounds in, we'd need quite a few players (20+) to ensure that some of those roles will have an impact.
