Virtanen93
Now you would want to look for teams who believe they can make playoffs that may not. Good teams to target first rounders via trade include: Nsh Min Tor Wpg Dal Col Cal? Ari? Det Ott Fla? Wsh Nj Phi Cbj? Players id be willing to make package out of to acquire 1st: Kassian Hansen Richardson Matthias Gaunce Bieksa Burrows Higgins Subban Lack Markstrom Shinkaruk-i would be iffy Sbisa What team would you go for and what would the proposal be if you were to target a second 1st rounder in this deep draft? 5Fivehole0
Nobody, because if we were trading for an extra draft pick it would mean we wouldn't be making the playoffs if we were trading roster players for draft picks. If by some chance we miss the playoffs the players that could be packaged for a draft pick would be Miller Kassian Burrows Higgins Hansen Richardson Hamhuis Bieksa Matthias Those are players that can help a team win a cup and would be trade deadline players and in packages could attain a 1st round pick. That being said, Benning would only gun for that if this team collapses pre deadline.
S N Y P E R S 7
this should be my topic... why didn't I think of this... anyways I have a list of my top 300 prospects, still need to get them up on my blog. it is going to be very difficult to get more first round picks in this year's draft. the costs are going to be through the roof, because: the top 15 this year would be top 3 any other year (see my Mock Draft thread on Around The NHL; updating list tonight) the bottom bottom half would, most likely, be top 15 any other year the second round will be chock full of excellent prospects who would get a shot at being picked in the first round any other year. ^ as a result, the rest of the draft will have a ton of prospects that have a good chance at making the NHL in other roles. This is a very deep draft, and nobody is giving up any picks unless franchise changing players are in the mix. Our best bet would be to keep our picks and hoard them so nobody can touch them. That's what other teams will be doing; this year has too many valuable players to do anything rash. Price the Canucks would need to pay to get a pick in the 10-15 range of the first round (unless the canucks fall to a pick in that area anyways by tripping up this season): High Profile NHLer Two other [rd.1-2] draft picks One Top Prospect One Goalie
Canucks1219
Sorry this is a little off-topic but I'm too jealous to not mention it. Buffalo has three 1st-round picks in one of the most talented drafts ever. One of those picks is pretty much guaranteed to get them No.1-2 overall. The pick from the Islanders probably gets them a selection anywhere from 10-18. The Blues pick is probably going to be late-teens to early twenties. Even in those spots the Sabres are going to be able to select a solid prospect. Or they can include those picks as part of a package (could be separate packages) to try and move up. So they could draft 3 stud players (one of which is a guaranteed superstar) to bolster their young group of talented players that already includes: Sam Reinhart, Mikhail Grigorenko, Zemgus Girgensons, Joel Armia, Rasmus Ristolainen, Nikita Zadorov, Nicholas Baptiste, Brendan Lemieux, etc.
LaBamba
A 1st in this draft will have an unprecedented price tag. If we fall off a cliff I could see us dumping a good defender in the summer packaged with our draft pick to move up. But with all the no trades I can't really see that happening. Tanev and a 1st to an underachieving team might get you in the top 10. No way Benning does a deal like that unless he feels strongly about a certain player within his grasp. That certain player would need to be a full Chris Tanev better then the player available where he is slated to pick.

Poor CoHo, if Buffalo picks a centre he's traded or in the AHL
