Grapefruits
Not gonna lie, teared up a bit at the end. That's an amazing tribute to a great man! I met Gordie Howe a few years back at a Vancouver Giants game. Well, not really met, but I did get to shake his hand. He's lived a great life. I wish him well. -DLC-
Very well said, Joe. Sad times as we see to lose some of the very foundation of the game of hockey. The game has changed and Gordie reminds us of how it was. May he find comfort and feel the warmth of our thoughts coming through as he rests. Yep, Alex and Gordie may have just been the most consistent duo of all time, and that includes the Sedins.
Boudrias
Also, well said Joe. I only met Gordie once. 1974 in Moscow during the WHA - Red Army series. Put him beside Bobby Hull in a public setting and Gordie kinda faded into the back ground. I found him very quiet, even shy. During one of the games a Russian cross checked Mark to the ice in a corner. Gordie came in and buried his elbow up to the Russian's tonsils. You heard all the Howe stories growing up and here I was seeing it live. When it was over the 3 Howes were standing in the corner and staring down all the Russians on the ice. No one made a move. Later in the series we all went to the Moscow Circus and Gordie was introduced to a mostly Russian crowd. He was cheered! I never saw Gordie play at his prime but I take Joe's opinion to heart. He was the most complete hockey player that has ever played the game.
