This guy can't handle Sask winters...

otherwise

I grew up in saskatchewan. It sucks. Even in the summer. "right on 28c lets go to the beach" go to the beach and the wind is blowing 60km/hr with sand and whitecaps blowing in your face.

Ironically, some of the most creative minds I know are from Sask. I guess it's because all you have is your imagination.

Anyone have experience in extreme cold working conditions? ...im in my second sask winter and trying to manage cold vs bodyheat/moisture. ..any recommended clothing? /layering methods?

I haven't worked outside much, but from walking to school/work (~45 min walk) when it is really cold the most important thing is wind breaking. Then loose layer(s) under that. Try not to bundle up too much if you are moving around, you wouldn't need to dress in as many layers as if you were sitting still outside. If you feel like you are getting too warm/starting to sweat take off mitts/gloves and toque for a little bit (even just afew seconds) and then put them back on. Sweat freezes and then you get cold because everything you are wearing is also kinda wet/frozen.

Ye thx...I basically have been experimenting the last few days its been fluctuating from -40 to -15 and of course wind factor....I eliminated a cotton hoody as a layer which holds moisture...and replaced with helly hansens arctic rated pile hoody. ..that has helped...

Up top im running a merino blend undershirt a helly hansen polypropylene shirt over that then the HH hoody then a windbreaker...I take off the touque every once in a while and rotate through gloves so they dont get wet with sweat and then freeze.

Anything below -20 with wind I wear a HH bib ovetall also arctic rated just over one merino long john...

Lol alot of wardrobe juggling while trying to work but frozen sweat is death.
