Corrado recalled by Nucks

Weber isn't big enough to be in the line-up over the long run. Not too sure about Corrado either, the back end needs a BIG mobile guy, to take care of the Getzlaf's, Kopitar's, and the Thornton's in this conference. He looks dreadful on the power play as well, don't know how many shots of his were blocked last night, but it was more than 3. His coverage on the first goal last night was poor.

that's what I was hoping Lain would help out with

Hammer is out and we have to hope Corrado can step in, if not him Sanguinetti.

because right now we do not have the kind of depth to be purchasing a top 4 defenceman.

If Hammer is out long term and we suffer an injury to our forward group (H Sedin, Bonino) or to someone like Edler or Bieksa long term, we might as well be sellers at the deadline.

Our position right now is enviable but tenuous honestly and we seem to have the unfailing ability to get injured frequently as a team

i don't get that. why be sellers at the deadline just because of injuries. at least benning and linden will have an excuse as to why they missed the playoffs... however i know benning he will aquire something just for depth... or use this opportunity to evaluate his prospect depth...

Hopefully Sbisa will step up. Aside from his semi-frequent turnovers, he's been playing well, not to mention as well that Benning put a lot of faith in this guy saying that he had the upside to become a top 4 defenceman.

I think he has top 4 potential. People forget that he's only 24 and he's only going to improve. Not to mention, you can't teach mean

Exactly! It's expected that all draft picks make the NHL by the age of 20 otherwise they're busts! Tanev just barely slipped by the radar. Sneaky devil!

Where did you get that formula? Every player is different. Some D aren't ready until they're about 24 or so. There is no set formula; just the odds. How do you explain a guy like Burrows who was never drafted?

He/she may be joking...not sure though. It sounded really real.

Gotta feel for Sanguinetti.

Called up briefly when Bieksa was out - sent back down without playing a game because it was just an insurance call up in case Bieksa couldn't go.

Hamhuis goes down long-term - Corrado gets the call over him.

Defense was erratic before Hammer's injury.

...and yet some folks are suggesting that between Stanton/Weber/Sbisa/Corrado we will be fine missing our most stabilizing influence on the blue line.

We have been winning games by one goal, taking Hamhuis out of the mix can easily turn that into losing those games by one goal.

Quit griping & moaning doubters..let's find out if we've truly gotta' 6 mill guy in net! Very good mid/early season test to find out. If RM doesn't come thru in spades, we simply have to get our younger gt's more involved.

If those options, & the young D doesn't keep the team rolling, well maybe we sell another piece or two, then add more top youth in June?

Best to view this through the win/win prism. Sometimes the adversity of key injuries makes a team stronger, over the long haul.
