Duchene321
Is it just me, or is that LA always seems to make this team struggle. I don't want people to rage over me just because I'm basing this of the one game we played them this year, but LA always seems to make this team lose there focus mentally and cause them to get shutdown. I was always lose my confidence every time they play that team, but this seems to differ against the other Californian teams. Do you guys think if we ever happen to vs them in the playoffs, do you think we have what it takes to beat them and if not, what tools do we need to beat them? GMJB
Are team does not match up well against them in addition to being bigger and more physical they also just seem to have more talent and to the Sedins being slow makes it really hard to play the Kings since they cant just speed around all there big physical players. Right now now no I don't think we would beat them unless the Stanleycup hang over really affects them massively or we have incredible goaltending steal the series. I think we would need another good defensmen who has size and 1 or 2 more top 6 forwards a guy like Andrew Ladd would work great since he has size and physicality. -DLC-
We will beat them New Years Day. I will be there, helping. Count on it.
The Horvatian One
Too early to tell but LA is not beatable for a lot of teams.
Erik Karlsson
I think we can beat them next game. We will have Kassian, Sbisa and Horvat in the line up, all big guys. Kassian and Sbisa didn't play last time, and Bo was just getting his feet wet in the NHL.
tyhee
Obviously anything is possible and things could change (e.g. Kopitar, Doughty and Quick become unavailable) but I'd say the Kings would be very heavy favourites in a playoff series. So, can the Canucks beat LA? Yes. Will they? Let's watch and see. I don't think the expectations are high, but you never know.
Warhippy
It wasn't until they picked up Richards and Carter and hired Sutter as coach that LA truly became a serious issue for us. Ya we've always had that team or two that always snakebit us. From 2001 on teams like Minnesota, Detroit absolutely owned the WCE SJ and Dallas until we acquired Luongo Anaheim and SJ until our run CHI, ANS, LA and SJ since. For whatever reason there are teams or groups of teams that always own us, just like there are individual players that just eat us alive. It will happen, it's entirely cyclical teams ebb and flow. I am personally never concerned about teams we can beat in the regular season. More I wonder about what teams we'd match up with in the post season. If we speak strictly of the post season, I don't want LA anywhere near me. Like period, at all.

Grapefruits
Any team is beatable on any given day. Can we win a series against them? Highly doubt it with the team we currently have.
ilduce39
Had a similar thought this afternoon... for whatever reason I think (health permitting) we have a fighting chance against anyone in the West except for the Kings.
Bissurnette
It seems like when they're on their game we don't really stand a chance which is, needless to say, very bad. We have to rely on them having a bad game in order to beat them. In the playoffs they always seem to go to yet another level, everybody on their team is intense and focused, nobody backs down and there's very little room on the ice. I don't think any team from the west has a chance against them. Anaheim is still too young on the back end and they've got two rookies in net. I think STL is still growing, and Chicago has a weak bottom six.
VegasCanuck
As the two teams sit right now, I don't think we have enough size on defense across 6 guys to be able to handle them in a best of 7 series. That can change quickly with one trade or with injuries! If the playoffs were to start today, I think they would still be a handful for any team in the Western Conference. Love how the Canucks are playing, I think if Benning can find us some solid, safe muscle closer to the deadline, we will be able to do damage in the playoffs, as long as we don't face Los Angeles first! NatureBoy
Simply no. Too big and physical, too much center depth, great defense, great goaltending. Even after tonight, don't think we could beat the Hawks in a playoff series. LA and Chi are different teams in the playoffs.
Mathew Barzal
In a single game, if course. In the playoffs... Chicago and LA have another gear. We haven't encountered those juggernaut versions in a while, this year might be it though. Hopefully Hamhuis is back by then.
