Honeydew
Probably one of the worst trades in recent times for WSH.... Leading rookie scorer, Over PPG, Makes linemates better. Should've waited for Forsberg to develop but decided it was worth to trade, possibly Calder Trophy winner?
Aladeen
To answer your question, yes. The real question you should have asked though: was this really worthy of a thread? To that, I would answer no.
Jiggs50
Whenever I check the box score for the Preds, Forsberg is ALWAYS on the score sheet. He puts up points! He played great against us too. Terrible trade for Washington, but a genius trade by Poile. Nashville has some nice young players. Looking good. If Rinne stays healthy, watch out. Captain Aerosex
Didn't understand it at all back then. Looks even worse now. For Martin Erat, I mean come on. What were they thinking??
apollo
Trade was moronic from the start. Every hockey fan said it at the time and every sportscaster on TV said it too. Was it McPhee who made the move? That was awful. Erat... L0lwut?
Tortorella's Rant
Erat, Hemsky.. Those are the types of players you don't trade for. Soft. They have to be scoring to be effective. And they aren't great at that to begin with.
unknown33429
Funny thing is getting that pick that turned out to be Forsberg was a great move by Wsh. They send one of their many goalie to colorado who ended up being terrible. At one point, I thought it was going to be a lottery pick. They made a great trade but then gave him away for nothing. Funny how that worked out for them.

hatedkid666
McPhee was desperate to win the cup to keep his job and made what will be one of the worst trades of all time. They were so lucky when he dropped to them in the draft.
Honeydew
Would've looked great playing with Ovi no clue what was McPhee thinking of letting Forsberg go for so little..
sinphase
How do we get this guy? After the Sedin's our team is lacking in swede forwards.
unknown33429
How do we get this guy? After the Sedin's our team is lacking in swede forwards. Or we could just continue to draft and develop our own players rather than trying to get players other teams will never trade.
