VPN Recommendations

Does anybody here, or more to the point anybody reading this, use a VPN? If so, any recommendations? "Hide My Ass" is out of the question. They fold like a cheap suit when presented with a U.S. court order, even though as far as I know they aren't based in the U.S. I plan on using one for torrents and out of country restricted internet broadcasts, such as Canada and the UK. In otherwords, speed is the most important factor since my connection is 50mbps download/5 mbps upload. Ping time is not important.

I've read reviews on a handful of them, but many of the reviews ended up being paid reviews.

FYI, if you're looking for a free VPN, you'll be looking for a long time. All of the free ones are slow and useless.

I recommend Private Internet Access. They have an excellent Black Friday sale going on too: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/black-friday

I definitely wouldn't use a free VPN. I'm going to go with privateinternetaccess.com. They get pretty good reviews on the non-paid websites.

I remember the good old days fondly when you could download and share anything out in the open and the Government would just reply "what? Computers? I dont know nothing about those."

I don't know about that...

I remember receiving copyright violation emails like in early 2000's and this was before torrents and other forms of downloading became big.

Back in the day I remember napster and constantly searching for P2P downloads.

Once Napster bit the dust, limewire and frostwire emerged as the top download applications only to suffer the same fate.

Mind you I am not even that old..

Limewire died when torrents became the standard. It also didn't help that the fricken' network was chock full of viruses. After a while you needed to double wrap if you wanted to take a shot at getting a clean file.

After Kazaa I'm surprised anyone used Limewire.
