CRAZY_4_NAZZY
If he can stay relativly healthy for the rest of his career, he could easily be one the best to play in the NHL. He is just too good
HerrDrFunk
As much as I dislike Crosby the player, it will definitely be interesting to see where he ends up on the all time lists when he hangs up his skates.
nowhereman
He's the sixth fastest to do it in NHL history: Wayne Gretzky-352 Mario Lemieux-410 Mike Bossy-525 Peter Statsny-531 Jari Kurri-558 Sidney Crosby-571 What's most impressive is that he did it in today's era. The rest of the names on that list all played in the run-and-gun 80s.
logic
if he had been healthy his whole career bet he would be nearing 1000
WilliesStache14
he's going to be 2nd only to Gretzky in all time points by the time he's done (if he stays healthy)
hockeyville88
It's a pleasure to watch him play. He has overcome so much to still be the best player in the game. Way to go Sid!
TheRussianRocket.
Great player but to those saying he'll be the greatest, he will never be the best or even close to that talk in general imo. I mean, get a hold of yourselves, look at all the legends currently. Bobby Orr is arguably the GOAT and he was a defensemen. No way Crosby ever surpasses the likes of him. Then you got the rest with guys like Mario, Wayne, Howe, Richard, Beliveau, etc... Edit: Congrats though. In todays league with how tough it is, Sid is tearing it apart. HerrDrFunk
What's kind of scary is he missed a good chunk of games with that neck injury/concussion. Who knows where he would be if he had been healthy.

At his current career trajectory, with a few more Harts, Art Ross trophies, and Lindsays, Crosby will have a good argument for the 5th spot, behind Gretz, Orr, Howe, and Lemieux. There's nothing saying he can't displace Richard, Hull or Beliveau.

Zfetch
I would argue Crosby is right next to Gretsky. Much closer than you think. Did a quick comparison: These results are as of each player's highest points in a season. Gretsky: 211 goals scored without him (215/426) 85-86 Crosby: 157 goals scored without him (120/277) 06-07 Although the eras are completely different. This would be the best data I could come up with. Gretsky's era scored 35% more than Crosby's when both star players were in their prime(At least so far for crosby) Therefore multiply.35% point percentage to crosby's career and you get a fair comparison.Best comparison: Had they played in the same era:Gretsky 1.92 points per game.Crosby: 1.89 points per game. Wow! Even I wasn't expecting that!
Honeydew
I'm just thinking wow already??? Great stuff especially doing it in the Modern NHL compared to those that broke the 800 mark in the old 80-90s hockey.
Nuxfanabroad
Man, the 'tending was weak in the '80s, compared to today's game. Gretzky was also in a very lame Smythe div. Heck, the whole western side was a goal-fest.

I think we could see Crosby end up as the 4th best of all-time conceivably. I think it'd be hard for him to surpass Orr, Gretzky, or Lemieux in public perception but when you consider how much he dominates in a league where goaltenders, defensive systems are better and there's more and more parity in NHL players' athleticism and training regimen...it's pretty phenomenal and I think we'll better appreciate how amazing a player he is when he retires. I'd say he's the most dynamic player since a prime Jaromir, but more well-rounded at the expense of some physical strength.
WilliesStache14
Catching up to the twins already. It's insane. crosby was a 100+pt player right out of the gate, Sedins didn't hit that until after age
NatureBoy
One thing I will say, Crosby playing in the Western Conference would be a bit different story...
Captain Aerosex
One thing I will say, Crosby playing in the Western Conference would be a bit different story... So would be Crosby playing with actual 1st line forwards, Crosby not missing a solid chunk of his prime to injuries...
