Pimp C
Canucks-Islanders Nicklas Jensen + Joe Cannata + 2017 3rd for Anders Lee Islanders get younger forward prospect that's progressing well and is not waiver eligible for a while, a decent goalie prospect and a 3rd. Canucks get an NHL ready forward that's not as fast as Jensen but has a heavy shot, solid defensively, strong along the boards and in front of the net, strong on the puck, physical, and is willing to get his nose dirty in the tough areas of the ice. He can play center or wing. Canucks-Capitals Brendan Gaunce + Brad Richardson for Dmitry Orlov Capitals get a smart two-way center prospect that is playing well in the AHL and a 4C that can play the wing as well. Canucks get a young PMD that likes to throw his body around and can help our transition game and help us on the pp. He shoots left but prefers to play the right side. Forwards: Sedin-Sedin-Vrbata Higgins-Bonino-Burrows Mathias-Lee-Kassian Dorsett-Horvat-Hansen Vey/Sestito or Sedin-Sedin-Vrbata Higgins-Bonino-Burrows Lee-Horvat-Kassian Dorsett-Mathias-Hansen Vey/Sestito Lee, Kassian, and either Mathias or Horvat on the same line would be interesting. They would be difficult to handle. A hell of a lotta muscle. D: Edler-Tanev Sbisa-Bieksa Stanton-Orlov Weber When Hamhuis gets back: Edler-Tanev Hamhuis-Orlov Stanton-Bieksa Sbisa/Weber What do you guys think? Nicklas Bo Hunter
would make no sense for both teams. Both are playing well.... Islanders need to win now so there is no chance that they downgrade lee. makes no sense. Also richardson isn't a guy we want to trade... depth at c is key for the playoffs. tyhee
Is Orlov recovering fully from his wrist injury? He was expected back in late September but hasn't played, has just begun practising and hasn't started his AHL conditioning stint yet.
canuktravella
nahhh gaunce is golden why would we trade jensen for another forward when we have a big bodied gaunce for our bottom six. If anything we need to trade jensen for a defenseman
Pimp C
We give up too much No I don't think so. would make no sense for both teams. Both are playing well.... Islanders need to win now so there is no chance that they downgrade lee. makes no sense. Also richardson isn't a guy we want to trade... depth at c is key for the playoffs. Islanders have a log jam in their forward core. Lee has been playing on their 4th line. Getting a guy that isn't waiver eligible for another year for Lee may be appealing to them, and Jensen's skillset could be a better fit in the wide open east. Lee is a center himself, so trading Richardson isn't a big deal. Is Orlov recovering fully from his wrist injury? He was expected back in late September but hasn't played, has just begun practising and hasn't started his AHL conditioning stint yet. Yeah he's still injured. nahhh gaunce is golden why would we trade jensen for another forward when we have a big bodied gaunce for our bottom six. If anything we need to trade jensen for a defenseman How is Gaunce golden lol. He's not gonna be anything more than a 3rd line center. We have Horvat and McCann who project to be similar players but with better offensive tools. Even Cassels is producing at a much higher rate than Gaunce at the same age in the OHL. Trading Gaunce for a young defensemen makes a lot of sense. We trade Jensen for another forward because the forward we get back is much more versatile and plays a heavy physical game. We are really soft upfront and he would be an improvement in that aspect.
SuperSakic
I would maybe bite on the lee proposal because I believe he can be a good pick up fairly young 24 I believe and a RFA after this year but I still think patience would do the canucks good. We dont have a need at centre right now with henrik, bones, horvat, richardson/matthias (1 will be retained in the off season I believe) and gaunce and mccan and cassels coming up I think it would be bad to trade jensen at this point without giving him a fair shake I like the proposal anyhow. Tbh islanders would want more picks back if anything due to giving so many up for jaro, boychuk and leddy. And as for orlov i'm totally against that pick up. I dont know if u have seen the caps play but I have and his defensive game is atrocious. Makes bad pinches at the offensive zone, has a heavy shot, can get it through, but his positioning and overall game are not good at all. Can take the body but in a tough western conference I think he would be a liability on the ice so I dont like the trade at all. If canucks did want a dman I would trade murphy from the coyotes, or maybe a rental until hamhius is back like mezaros from buff.

I like Lee cause he can play either center or wing so he's versative and man... if he finds chemistry with Kassian that line would be absolute dynamite especially in the western conference against teams like LA, Anaheim, St. Louis, and San Jose. Losing Jensen hurts, but not as much when we're getting a guy like Lee back. Lee could also play anywhere up and down the line up. I think the Islanders could use Cannata who is still a decent goalie prospect and had good numbers for Utica last year, but with Markstrom going down to the AHL, he's gotten sort of a raw deal. I guess we could make the offer Jensen+2nd for Lee but I kinda feel like we're giving up a little too much. Orlov is a guy that was being mishandled by Oates last year. He is most comfortable playing on the right side but Oates had some weird infatuation with players only playing on the same side that they shoot. He even made Ovi switch positions. Orlov had to adjust to the right side and that isn't exactly the easiest thing to do especially when you're a young d-man trying to break into the league. From what I saw of him he looked pretty decent defensively, and was good at moving the puck up effectively. Murphy is interesting but I think the Coyotes are pretty high on him. Not sure if they would be willing to trade him, especially to a divisional rival. Meszaros is terrible btw.

Green would cost too much and I would rather get a guy a younger guy that would be a long term solution.
CanuckMan10
I don't think NYI are looking to change anything. Rather have Green from the caps. Green is a UFA at the end of the year and we could probably just sign him then and not give up prospects.
ForsbergTheGreat
Green is a UFA at the end of the year and we could probably just sign him then and not give up prospects. Remove Hammer and Juice and replace them with in the offseason with UFA's Green and Franson Franson Edler Green Tanev Sbisa Stanton But I would really like Orlov, he was looking really good at the end of last season. Why in gods name would we replace Hamhuis and Bieksa for Green and Franson? That defense that you constructed would bleed goals against.
