Could this be the best 4th line we have ever had?

If Bo continues to improve this season and stays dominant in the circle, do you think this could be our best 4 line in canucks history?

Hansen was bashed at the beginning of the year but hes always been a great 3rd or 4th line guy. Aside from last years abortion. Dorsett is great, I think hes the best energy guy we have had since Torres. Just hope he can stay relatively heathy.

If Im off base here chime in.

The only good 4th line I can think of is the one that would have been our 4th line in 2011 without any of the injuries which was

Torres-Lapierre-Tambellini not sure if this line ever played together though.

Also most fourth lines aren't memorable so it hard to say I bet this 4th line gets forgotten in 5 years. While the players won't be forgotten their roles and success on this line will be.

Our 4th line is our 3rd line.

If that makes any sense.

Who's on 4th?

Bo, Do, and Yo

Also has a lot to do with the coach IMO. Every player in the NHL is part of an elite group of players. Of course Bo is unique in that he won't remain a 4th liner but the principle is the same. Most all were top players in junior leagues, including 4th liners on all teams. Coaches like Torts and even AV had a traditional style of pretending you only had three lines, sometimes two, and only reluctantly putting out the fourth line when the other lines were having a terrible night and/or exhausted.

I think there were times when the team had the potential of a better, more productive, 4th line, but they weren't given a chance to develop, feel a part of the team, and learn, and master, the coaches system of play on ice. Its a chicken and egg thing. If you only give them 3 minutes, they will never develop chemistry or ability or the confidence of the coach to give them more minutes.

i don't remember all our 4th lines over the years, but i like what willie says...to not worry about what line your on, if your line plays better than another line, you'll get more ice time...i think it keeps the players hungry...reminds me of johnny bucyk who refused to sign more than a one year contract...he said it kept him hungry....

In recent memory, Kes and Burr were pretty good.

Before Manny went down, we briefly had Torres/Higgins and Lapierre on the 4th line. Pretty effective as well.

I would rather have torres-manny-hansen but this years line is close

That was the 3rd line in 2011.

Before Lappy came we had some mix of Alex `Giant Slayer` Bolduc, Guy Desbiens, Glass, Oreo, Rypien, Schaefer for a bit, Tambellini and Volpatti.

I think this current 4th line has fewer weaknesses than even that Cup run team. Not sure about all-time but it`s pretty good.

The Canucks have a fantastic bottom 6. We have a great mix of speed, skill, toughness and grit. It's great to see that our players are all meshing well together. Horvat's arrival improved our faceoffs a lot and if Richardson can develop more consistency in regards to winning faceoffs then we'll have an even stronger bottom 6 that can take on the top lines of opposing teams.

As many have stated, the Canucks main concern is in the top 6 forwards and the top 4 defencemen. Our top 6 group of Sedins, Vrbata, Burrows, Bonino and Higgins have been doing pretty well so far so I'm mainly worried about our defence. They look dominant some nights but terrible the next and losing Hamhuis certainly didn't help.

But going back on topic...yes we have a pretty good 4th line. Is it the best? Can't tell until the season ends but I'm pretty excited to see Horvat play more in the NHL.
