avelanch
Linden and benning were in talks with TC stating they'd loan him if they wanted him... i guess they didn't want him...
Rex425
Horvat doesn't make it because he's in the NHL. Lazar didn't make it. No one in the NHL right now will be named, they can join. And McCann doesn't have enough offensive ability right now.
Squeak
None of the 'NHL'er' players were named to the camp - they make room for them if they get released.
timberz21
With the depth at center, and McCann's mono and late start, I understand he wasn't invited. Subban was a long shot, but they brought in Hicketts at his place since he's an 18 years old, probably brought to camp for experience for next year. Good to see Virtanen there with a somewhat of a slow (or average) start and his injury. Hopefully he can be paired with Reinhart or McDavid and have instant chemistry. timberz21
who did virt play with at the sss? I believe I asked the same question in Virtanen's thread. I think he started with Klimchuk and Reinhart but left for injury and came back with Quenneville Hawryluk. That was the 1st game, don't know about the 2nd one. Down by the River
If Canada struggles to score goals on the PP and dmen are not getting point shots through, all hell is going to break loose. McCann has just had an unlucky season. He didn't deserve to make the team, but at the same time you can't blame him for that. And like others said, Drouin, Lazar, Duclair, and Ekblad were not named to the selection camp since there is no way any NHL team would loan one of those guys for a training camp. Same goes for Horvat.
Tiger-Hearted
McCann is going to do a 180 next season and he will get his chance to make Team Canada. He's got a ton of skill and character. If he didn't have mono in the first place, he would likely be a shoe-in for sure.

RRypien37
Absolute JOKE that Subban didn't at the very least get an invite. Highest scoring D in the OHL... WJHC politics continue... Edit: NO Strome? Marner? But Crouse get's an invite? Wtf is going on?!
Borvat
They don't choose the best players anymore. They still beleive they are building a team for a long season or a so called "well rounded Canadian team". This tournament is all about showcasing skill and scoring. I don't think they get that. Derp...
Thought Subban would get an invite, but he didn't have a great SSS so it's not as bad as Corrado in my opinion. Sucks for McCann, but it was kind of expected. Crouse is a beast on the 4check, and I think he will help the bottom line. Marner and Strome should have gotten invites, but I doubt they would have been ready to make the squad.
JeremyCuddles
Subban snuff'd? Yikes. McCann I felt was a long shot given he had Mono, but Subban has been money this year. And he's got the Subban name FFS.

It worked when the Bolland, Matthias, Halischuk, Didominico, Esposito, Della Rovere, Cormier made the team and won gold. And lost with RNH, Scheifele, Drouin, Mackinnon, Strome, Hamilton, Reilly, Reinhart, on the same team. These are cycles, there is no magic recipe. Xbox
http://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/Team-Canada/Men/Junior/2014-15/Selection-Camp/Roster No McCann, No Subban, no Horvat, WTF? It's because Horvat is on the NHL roster. He would have been invited other wise. As for the other two, there must of just been better options for Canada's Junior Team. Kruger
Sucks for Subban and McCann but I was expecting that Don't know why Marner and Strome where not invited and Crouse was. I'm guessing Crouse is a more crash & bang player No Ho-Sang?! Kid was one of the best players in the SSS

Most of us look at a few specific competition and our mind are made about the players. Scouts for Hockey Canada, often follows these guys for at least 2 years (if not 3-4). So it's not only the SSS or summer camp or Memorial Cup. It the whole two year, everyone will have ups and down, and in the end the decision is based on that more than say the SSS.
