NHL Gamecenter Question

I have a few questions about Roger's NHL Gamecenter for those who use it:

- Is there any wait period to watch games if you don't watch them live (can you login to watch a game that's already concluded)?

- Are the games in HD (or via Roku/PS3/XBOX)?

- Does the 1 year season subscription with Rogers include the playoffs?

- Can you pause a real time game like a PVR?

Gamecentre is a joke.

I bought it with my cellphone and then had it taken away because of their claim that i bought it with An american ip which is impossible.

Then i try to buy it with a prepaid credit card through rogers (the sAme way i successfuly signed up on nhl.com) and was told they dont accept preloaded or prepaid cards.

I have never dealt with a company that doesnt want customers as much as rogers and will be using a new phone carrier (currently using fido which is their subsidiary if thats the c

Yes.

At times they are HD, sometimes it goes down in quality on its own. Also I know a few people that can't get it to work on ps3/ps4.

I'm not sure about playoffs, since it blacks out local games. So you can't watch HNIC, or local SNET or TSN games. At least that's how it's been for me.

You can pause.

Also be sure when you sign up if you are getting just the season, or the full year. They play classic games during the summer and my one friend got charged for it even though he was unaware of it.

I'm probably a bad example because I only had GC some 3 years or so ago, I think it was the first year they had an agreement with Neulion or whatever. The streams were choppy on any PC, and they had a ton of blackouts, which was incredibly annoying. Why pay for a comprehensive package when you never know whether or not you can even watch games until it's too late? I'm simply not a hardcore NHL fan, in fact, probably not really considered an NHL fan at all anymore, who would be bothered to sit there and try and navigate all the stupid fine print and technicalities of a shoddy service. There are other services which might be better, although probably a little less on the legal side.

I had very few issues with it last year. Like others stated, sometimes it would go out of HD but would return fairly shortly. It was the same for both PS3 and Xbox. This year it constantly freezes on the PS3 to where it's not worth watching. I'm talking like every 15-45 seconds it freezes. The Xbox this year had some changes, and not for the better. If I happen to be late for the game, it used to be that I could start from the beginning and catch up by fast forwarding throught the commercials and the intermission breaks. Not anymore. If I'm late, there is no option to start from the beginning and if I pause it for a few minutes there is no fast forward option anymore. I can back out of the game and start it back live but if I have it paused more than 5-10 minutes I miss out on the game. So it's definitely a downgrade from last year. It works great on my laptop though. If I have 4G service on my phone I can watch it in HD on that too. If they don't fix these issues I will not be getting it next year. I will get Center Ice instead. That comes directily through the cable provider so I won't be able to watch on my phone or laptop but I will have a lot better options on the TV. I live in Maryland so that's the only way I get to see the Canucks play, minus the NHL and NBCSN games.

It does not include the playoffs though and that's because every single playoff game is televised so you can watch any one that you want to anyway. At least that's how it is here in the states.

Resurrecting this old thread because I'm essentially having the same problem this year vs the last, except on a PS4. I know after a couple of weeks of last season, some of the streaming issues got resolved so I'm hoping this is the same issue like just a season opener issue and just fix the bugs. Does anyone else use NHL Gamecenter still?

I gave up on it last year for the Center Ice package and again this year.  It sucks that I can't watch it on my phone or tablet anymore but I'm much happier with it overall.
