Blue Jackets center Artem Anisimov expected to miss 2-3 months with torn triceps muscle:

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed center Artem Anisimov on Injured Reserve as a result of a torn triceps muscle suffered in last Saturday’s game at Nashville, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The injury is expected to sideline Anisimov for two to three months.

Anisimov, who missed seven games earlier this season due to an upper body injury, has recorded two goals and four assists for six points with four penalty minutes in 16 games this season. The Yaroslavl, Russia native has posted 81-90-171 with 122 penalty minutes in 376 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and New York Rangers.

The 26-year old recorded 22-17-39 with 20 penalty minutes in 81 games in 2013-14, setting career highs in goals, game-winning goals (five), shorthanded goals (two) and TOI/game (16:35). Anisimov registered 11-7-18 with 12 penalty minutes in his first season as a Blue Jacket in 2012-13 after being acquired in a trade from the Rangers on July 23, 2012.

The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Florida Panthers. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show at 6:30 p.m.

The game will also be broadcast live on the Scioto Downs Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan, and online at BlueJackets.com.

Holy cow has that team been decimated by injuries this year.

I feel bad for their fans having to go through another season like this after getting a good taste of the playoffs last season for the first time in a long time, giving them lots of hope for this season.
