J.I.A.H.N
Trade #1 Pitts trades Pouliot and 2015 2nd for Van trades Kassian Trade #2 Edmon trades J.Schultz, 2016 -1st, 2015 -2nd for Van trades Hamhuis, Hansen, Fox Pouliot has a higher ceiling and Kassian is inconstistant, but he is a rare commondity, he will probably do well with Crosby and Malkin.......but who knows? Hodson < Kassian < Pouliot and a second Pittsburgh takes it! Edmonton guaranteed Schultz would be in the big leagues.......Vancouver sends him down to gain experience, we can handle the loss Now we can focus on the best players available, both Schultz and Pouliot can step for injury purposes
William_Clarkson
Pittsburgh wouldn't accept that and Edmonton only would if they were really desperate (like NYI trading both their 1st & 2nd round pick), still would probably need a bit more. Also, it would have to wait for Hamhuis to recover.
3KBieksa
so you acquire J.Schultz and then send him down to the minor where he will be claim on the waiver? and why we would trade Hammer away if we are looking to stay as a contender he is one of our top dman and there is no way Kassian worth that much they wont even do kassian and pouliot straight up.... seriously Rutherford isnt stupid
Tom Sestito
I stick to my Kassian for Despres + offer. Also lmao @ Justin Schultz to the minors.

tyhee
It would be nice to get Schultz, Pouliot and the picks, and the Penguins could use Kassian, but there are some problems. 1. Joining the Edmonton Oilers, currently having no competition for last in the Western Conference, is not going to be every player's foremost desire. Is there any reason to think Hamhuis would waive his ntc to join the horrible mess in Edmonton? Is there any reason to think Hansen would name the Oilers as a team he'd be willing to join in accordance with his modified ntc-pretty much regardless of the number of choices he has? This is not like Lu getting to go where he wants, nor Kesler getting to go where he wants, nor Garrison waiving to go to Tampa, where the weather is a lot better than Edmonton, the team is a lot better than the Oilers and there is no state income tax. I don't see how the Edmonton trade could possibly happen. 2. Imo the combined effect of these trades depletes the forward core, leaving the Canucks noticeably weaker this season, which doesn't seem consistent with the stated Canucks' goal of making the playoffs. 3. You suggested Schultz be sent down for experience. ftr, I don't think there's any chance Canucks, if they had him, would send Schultz down for experience. He'd step right into the lineup. t
CALGARY!
Both Edmonton and Pittsburgh can get better value for the picks/players you propose.

ALL GMs have their moments.
J.I.A.H.N
I would really like to see these trades go through, so I have changed them a little.......any better? Trade #1 Pitts trades Pouliot and 2015 2nd for Van trades Kassian and Hutton and 2015-4th Trade #2 Edmon trades J.Schultz, 2016 -1st, 2015 -2nd (32nd) for Van trades Hamhuis, Hansen, 2015-2nd ( 48th?) Kassian is inconstistant, but he is a rare commondity, he will do well with Crosby and Malkin...... who knows? Edmonton guaranteed Schultz would be in the big leagues.......Vancouver sends him down to gain experience, we can handle the loss Now we can focus on the best players available, both Schultz and Pouliot can step for injury purposes Minor tweaks to the trade.......any better? BCNeil
LOL we are first in the conference. Who knows if that will last or not.But you don't get rid of your number one D, and 2 roster players. For 2 D you want to send to the minors, and some picks that might make the team in 3 years. No idea why Hamhuis or Hansen would waive for Edmonton, but that's a given on this site.
