Looks mildly interesting, if only because I could barely understand what was going on. Though as someone who has seen the first 2 movies about 10 times each or more, I really shouldn't have had a hard time understanding it.

I hated the third movie, because it seemed to betray what the first two were about, and the fourth was even worse, so my expectations are pretty much non existent. It looks significantly better than those, if that means anything. I will likely watch this.

Yeah but Salavation didn't have James Cameron though, he's back for this one, so I expect it to be much better.

James Cameron is not back. He not directing or producing it. His only credit is as a writer for creating some of the characters being reused from the Terminators he was involved with.

Alan Taylor is the director whos last movie was Thor: The Dark World so he knows his way around a special effects laden movie.

Ummm yes he is, and I never said he was directing at all, just pointing that he was back for this one, because he had no part in Salvation.

For a moment I thought this was Dawn of Planet of the Apes trailer after seeing Jason Clarke and listening to the music.

Trailer was awesome but there are always trailers for shit movies (Max Payne anyone?)

What don't people like about Salvation exactly? I really enjoyed it and it's darker tone.

poor script with many plotholes, dull characters (except Sam Worthington's character), stupid ending.

TBH, I enjoyed the 1st half. The opening and chase scene from the gas station to the bridge were some great action sequences to watch on the big screen but the story fell apart afterwards.
