Madaisky?(should we try to obtain?)

Recommended Posts

Browsing the AHL site, couldn't help but notice this kid. Ex-Blazer.

Saw he's a local boy(Burnaby/Surrey), a 5th round pick, who's leading the CBJ farm in scoring.

That team has reeled off 10 straight W's..

Honestly never seen him play. Is he some gem Clb will never let go? What's his value(any CDCer that has the goods-adv thanx)?

This is honestly the worst place to ask about this player.

We know how biased this board can be, but consider this:

1) He's local born.

2) Few here have actually seen our own prospects play, let alone somebody else's prospect.

3) To say 'value' as being subjective is an understatement. His value could be anywhere from a late 1st round pick to Kassian to WD's moustache.

4) There are going to be those who watched players during Junior and are overly sentimental about these players.

5) Stats can be misleading.

6) Size can be overstated, especially if he doesn't actually use size in his play, despite being a big guy.

7) Someone is going to make some out of context statement that he has next to no future in the NHL, because of the improbability of mid to low round picks.

8) Someone is going to overrate him by saying that he may be playing with AHL lifers and therefore would instantly produce on the NHL, disregarding the importance of chemistry.

Why do you want "advice"? Are you Jim Benning, by chance? :o

Certainly a 'dazzling' elucidation which I don't dispute..Guess I mainly have always had a soft spot for local, BC kids making the show. Usually hear about them on their way up, through some random game commentary/website, but don't think I've heard of this kid.

There seems to be a list of 5~10 younger PMD prospects our CDC boards appear infatuated over. Curious if this guy is close to that level?

I noticed his name earlier this week when I was looking at the AHL player stats. Couldn't find much info on the kid.

He had good numbers with Kamloops Blazers, then got injured early into his 1st AHL season and ended up missing most of the season. He's now recovered and seems to be lighting it up in the AHL this season (20 poiints in 23 games, and a +9 - not bad!). 6'1", rIght handed D.

He's a local boy, an RHD that can put up points, he's taller than 5 foot 10...

He's worth 3 firsts Kassian Tanev AND a 2nd this year for potential and local sentiment alone

Am I CDC'ing right?

I think we're not offering enough for him. Let's see if the GM will make the offer to trade between leagues.
