J.I.A.H.N
First off, I am counting on CDC to establish the ranking of these players, I don't know alot about them other than what I have read. I have never seen any of them on TV or in person, so please jump in and help out. Please vote and comment.....I look forward to reading them....... Thanks Jan I have deliberately left Vatanen and Maatta, who I believe have established themselves as NHL future #1 defensemen.......I am sure the others will in their own time, but not yet! Multiple picks......volume of picks should establish rankings......sorry i TRIED!!!!!
CanuckMan10
This is a poll, not a ranking. there is literally no point to this.
Valentine
Hopefully one of Roy, Provorov, or Andersson is available when we pick. Voted Ekblab, how could you not with the year he's having?
DownUndaCanuck
All at different stages of their careers but Ekblad, for what he is, is by far the best. Scoring at a 50-60 point pace, he's playing 20+ minutes and is a + player despite being on a shocking team. I didn't expect this kid to be playing as dominantly as he is, and I doubt he'll have a Phaneuf-like golden season followed by a bunch of average years and then declining. This guy looks like he's going to consistently score 40+ points and play solid defensively. Stud, but he's untouchable unfortunatley.

Pimp C
Ekblad Hanifin Ristolainen Zadorov Nurse Pouliot Morrissey Lindholm Roy Fleury Kylington Merrill Provorov Gormley This is... interesting. Do you know who Kylington is?
Plum
This is... interesting. Do you know who Kylington is? Yeah, not a big fan of his. Has speed and offensive skill but weak defensively. It was close between Roy, Fleury and Kylington but I like Roy's and Fleury's all-around game more.
Who-berdeau
Ekblad Hanifin Ristolainen Zadorov Nurse Pouliot Morrissey Lindholm Roy Fleury Kylington Merrill Provorov Gormley Switch Roy with Kylington and you got yourself a pretty realistic ranking. Just IMO.
Pimp C
Yeah, not a big fan of his. Has speed and offensive skill but weak defensively. It was close between Roy, Fleury and Kylington but I like Roy's and Fleury's all-around game more. Kylington is a two-way defensemen. Solid as hell in his own zone. His best comparable is OEL. Neither of those 2 are on the same level as Kylington. I don't think they are even close, honestly.
Plum
Kylington is a two-way defensemen. Solid as hell in his own zone. His best comparable is OEL. Neither of those 2 are on the same level as Kylington. I don't think they are even close, honestly. Kylington isn't very good in his own zone. He's out of position sometimes, watching the play and not physical. Kylington actually got demoted to Allsvenskan a little while ago. I never really got the Kylington hype, he doesn't have good gap control either and he's 6 feet which might make some teams wary of picking him with a top 10 pick. He'll be in the NHL though, has very good offensive skills and a fast player. I think these 3 players are very close, Fleury has the size you want in a defenceman at 6'3 200 pounds. He's physical, a good skater and smart defensively. He stays on his guy and doesn't let a big play happen when he's covering his guy and a hard shot. Jeremy Roy is very similar to Doughty IMO, he's not that big only 6'0 but he gets his stick out there and pressures the defenceman with his stick while being a good skater so he can cover them if they try to beat him wide. He can avoid a hit on the forecheck by spinning off offenders then quickly turn it up for a stretch pass or push it up the ice kind of like Doughty and skate with the puck in the offensive zone then get back already in good position defensively. I'm a big fan of Jeremy Roy, I think he should be in the top 10. Kylington is kind of dropping in the rankings if you've noticed.
J.I.A.H.N
So if this is the order...to some extent Ekblad..........No Hanifin..........No Ristolainen........No Zadorov Nurse Pouliot Morrissey Lindholm Kylington Fluery Roy Merrill Then, can we get any of these players with a 2016 1st, Gaunce/Jensen, and Markstrom/Demko ? Can we get anyone on the list with the aforementioned trade pieces? It is a question! Is it worth it?
