Value of Madison Bowey

Recommended Posts

Washington laughs.

Why?

You're going to have to qualify that for a 2nd round (53rd) pick that most have never seen play anywhere, like at all.

Carlson, Green, Niskanen are all confirmed RHD main stays on the Washington Roster.

Wey, Carrick, Lewington are all ahead of Bowey in age and development.

I personally have watched Bowey regularly in Kelowna, basically once a week for his tenure in the Rockets Org. The guy oozes leadership and is a solid pick. Honestly every "deep draft" since 2003 has had at least 1 near Norris caliber D man come out of the 2nd round. Keith, Weber, Subban etc.

I do not see Washington letting him go.

But. A package of Corrado, Jensen and a 2nd for Bowey, is almost a criminal over payment on our part. It helps Washington now in regards to their need for an RW to step in now, over Brouwer, Ward who while serviceable are NOT pure goal scorers which jensen is supposed to be, nor RHD at that age and development level in Corrado who is a solid carry on for a battered Washington blue line. Adding a 2nd for a guy who has never suited up is crazy.

All Bowey has to go on right now is his Rockets resume.

I agree that Washington doesn't give him up easily, but if you really think a package like that doesn't get that deal done man...

Come on guys I'm high on the kid too I'm just not HIGH he's not Shea Webber the only similarity is playing for Kelowna. He's 6'1 hardly has a big slapper more of a wrist'r guy but its a nice one. Likes to sneak up into the play a lot to use it. He has the potential to become a top 4 offensive D but right now it's just potential.

I'd actually say he's got more than that

He's the kind of guy that helps you win championships. Or at least could be. He's not worth a first round picked prospect an NHL ready D man and a 2nd though.

Corrado (who Bennington doesn't seem to have too much confidence in) Jensen and 2016 3rd for Bowie, After Hammer is back is a fair deal.

who is bennington?

Why is he worth that?

Qualify that man.

Because that's a package that should net you a Gormley or Larsson

Dyu think Jensen > Tom Wilson?

At RW they may not have all star calibre winger to compliment Backstrom and Ovi. But how many teams have 3 all stars on one line? In the meantime they can play Wilson, a 16th overall pick (? give or take, can't recall exact), three guys like Burrows but bigger in Brouwer, Ward & Brooks Laich or pull some talent in Johansson. Oh, and they have Burakovsky and Kuznetsov lurking around who are probably more dynamic than Jensen as well.

Point is Jensen isnt that exciting to them. You might have to overpay to get a team to do a deal that doesnt help them.

Ovi who can play off wing is amazing.

Brouwer who can play that solid 2 way game for a winger is great

Ward a solid bottom 6 player

Wilson, well who doesn't like that kind of player

But they do not have a Jensen type player ready to step in now as it is. Nothing against Burakowsky or Kuznetsov, but one needs more seasoning and one is Kuznetsov.

Again Surfer, you're going to have to try awfully hard to convince me that a package of those 3 pieces is an acceptable payment for Bowey as Washington takes that deal and runs.

For comparison. WOuld you accept Kuznetsov/Burakowsky and Orlov or Wey and a 2nd for Subban/Hutton/MCNally?

Of course you would because it's an awesome package for a guy that has never played in the NHL

Why would they laugh?

This is actually fair value. I mean obviously they won't accept this but I mean at least the proposal isn't ridiculously off.

Because every other teams' prospects are future HoF players that just haven't suited up yet but the Canucks' prospects are all former 7th round pick fringe CHL garbage by some accounts
