Taylor Hall Rumor. (proposal?)

Recommended Posts

Taylor hall has a ton of potential but being in edm is just sucking the life out of him. For the sake of his career i think he'd rather move to another team. Obviously the Nucks would have to pay a PREMIUM considering he is also in the same position. I feel as though Tanev or Edler or Bieksa would have to be in the deal (id like to keep Hammer) along wiht a A-level prospect, a 1st, and probably a 2nd next year.

However, Bieksa and Edler most liely would never waive to go to EDM... Thus Tanev becomes the biggest defensive traDE CHIP. EDM fans on CDC are going to hate this proposal because he is not a household name but he's been one of our best defensive D-men the past two years and hes young and has great hockey sense.

Proposal: (wont have to deal with NTC)

VAN: Tanev, Kassian, Matthias, Markstrom/Lack,2015 1st, 2016 2nd

EDM: Hall, Marincin

Sedin-Sedin-Hall

Higgins-Bonino-Vrbata

Burrows-Richardson-Vey

Dorsett-Horvat-Hansen

Hamhuis-Bieksa

Edler-Sbisa

Stanton-Marincin/Weber/Corrado

*** I'd like for Van to get a vet D-man also in a separate trade (Zidlicky, Weaver, Gleason, Volchenkov?) note all lhave expiring contracts, so deadline deal rentals.

Thoughts?

he's rumored to be on the block actually

Did I say somewhere he couldn't be traded? All I said is he's there best player and the return would have to be huge for them to trade him.

and you're proposal of tanev + bunch crap won't cut it (ok i'm harsh on Kassian and Markstrom/Lack, but they don't have much value on the market, even Tanev's value is probably lower than what he atually brings us)

At this time in the season, this trade is not worth the time, effort an players that have to be bundled up in package let alone the huge negative dissruption this would have on the current performance of the team. I would continue medium to long aproach with player development an stay the course .We need a top flight alround D man in worst way this is what I would be focusing on developing an patching up our D on a continueal basis until it has reliability an stability back there.I like Taylor but he is not our answer no matter what the deal may entail.

See what Seguin returned? Top players OTB don't return as much as they should.

Shinkaruk

1st 2015

Sbisa

Lack

Is my offer

Totally different situations. In Boston Seguin was being used as a role player, hadn't broken out yet, and rubbed the management wrong. Even with all that most people felt like Boston got fleeced. Hall is playing top line minutes in Edmonton and is generally considered their best player. No way your crappy offer even gets them talking

I would rather have all those players/assets than Taylor Hall

I would think Edmonton would be looking for Defense, Defensive forwards, and veterans to scatter into their lineup for leadership reasons. They are likely already picking very high in this years draft, and don't have a spectacular record of picking beyond top 10 in the past few years.

If Vancouver were looking to aquire him, I think Tanev, Bonino + a bottom six forward

Going all in for a kid with a bad attitude would be a poor decision. I have no doubt Hall wants out, although he will never admit it, he must be depressed losing in E-town. Five coaches in as many years. It's the gong show of the NHL. All that being said, depleting our own team to accommodate a potential star forward is not the way smart organizations develop their on ice product.

I'm not sure what the original poster means in saying Canucks would have to pay a premium, but to me paying a premium means paying more than normal value or more than someone else would pay.

Why make a trade when the starting point is that you have to overpay?

I would gladly take that deal. Star young power forwards are rare. Tanev's, Kassians, Lacks are replaceable fairly easily.

Although in a hockey sense I see why you made this proposal, their team gets more well rounded and adds a bunch of young pieces, but if MacT trades Taylor Hall right now without getting a top player or prospect in return (Tanev doesn't qualify) then he will be burned at the stake. Especially if he trades in division. It would take an outrageous package of lessers to get Hall. Like Tanev, Virtanen, Kassian, Lack and a first. Not worth it.
