*Buzzsaw*
All those who whine about Miller getting blown out occasionally... RELAX. As long as he continues to win more substantially more than double the number of games he loses, and does that while playing the bulk of the team's games, I don't see anything to worry about. Although everyone was talking about the scoring against the Coyotes... meanwhile Miller was quietly going about his business... he faced 39 shots and had a .974 save percentage... not exactly shabby. The next time all you drama queens get your knickers in a twist.... ...go back and look at Miller's overall record.
Western Red
'I don't care if Miller gets blown out sometimes... He's got a 2.57-1 win/loss record'The Canucks have that record, Miller was just in net
Hats_and_Waffles
I think the worry has been more about the fact that this kind of win% will be unsustainable with his current play. The team had a great start to the season, and I am happy he is winning most of his games. However, how many of those games were really decided by Millers performance? Junkyard Dog
Miller's inconsistent. When we win he's really good but when he loses its bad. Hopefully he can play at a consistent level and we can string some wins together down the stretch.

*Buzzsaw*
No question he has bad games... The game's he won... he was excellent and a big part of those wins...multiple instances he stole games. 3 shutouts, plus how many games with 1 goal allowed? Miss Korea Bob.Loblaw
So hockey's no longer a team effort, it's Miller that blew them? Save percentage is a quick indicator of a goalie's overall performance. Take Schneider for instance, who can't buy a win on that crappy Devils team, but his save percentage is solid. Miller is inconsistent. Do you honestly think anybody would be complaining about him if he put up the numbers like he did today???
*Buzzsaw*
It's very simple: Willie D needs to anticipate bettter when Miller is getting overworked. Instead of playing Lack 1 game in four, make it 1 game in three. If I can see the point in a series of games when Miller is starting to lose focus and energy, so can Desjardins. insomniac604
Miller makes saves when he needs to but after you've given up 3+, it makes no difference. He needs to steal 1 goal games for us. Not just be "average". His numbers on a respectively defensive team, one of the best Pk's, are terrible. He can be better and needs to be. Otherwise I don't see him living out his 3 years as a starter.
bp79
I saw what the team did and I saw what he did. In some games, he was terrible ya and i suppose he was to blame for the loss to the rangers? Sure he has had a couple bad games, but most of his losses were from being hung out to dry by the rest of the team. Unlike lou you never here him throw the boys under the bus. and he always seems to make that one big save to win or keep the game tied so we can win in ot. Im actually surprised at how good of a teamate this guy is when you here how supposedly he is a dick, doesn't seem to come across as one imho. lou on the other hand every goal he allows he's pointing or staring at one of his players or making some dramatic gesture with his stick. It's a little bush if you ask me

Do you honestly think anybody would be complaining about him if he put up the numbers like he did today??? I posted this earlier on the GDT from today, regarding Miller and SV%: "Meh, I disagree. It's definitely better than GAA, but a team's strategy could simply be throw the puck on net as many times as possible. Looks good for the save percentage. However, if one team holds possession, but the team they're facing gets a lot of good chances on the rush it hurts the save percentage. Not to mention a goalie will always only be as good as their teams' defenders. I think Miller's save percentage has a lot to do with the Canucks giving up 3 on 2 or 2 on 1 rushes, below average defenders, and good at preventing lots of shots being piled on. He hasn't been amazing, but he's been good, better than what everyone suggests."

Games Miller has won with only 1 goal advantage to work with: 2-1 against Oilers 3-2 against Oilers 4-2 against Flames (empty netter ends it) 5-4 against Oilers 2-0 against Oilers (empty netter ends it) 4-2 against Capitals (empty netter ends it) 3-2 against Canadiens 3-2 against Oilers 3-2 against Sharks 4-3 OT against Senators 5-4 against Oilers 4-3 against Capitals 3-2 OT against Calgary The fact is, most of the game's he's won were 1 goal wins. insomniac604
Hate Luongo, Love Schneider Hate Schneider, Love Luongo Hate Lack love Luongo. Don't expect things to change in the goalie graveyard. It was a terrible situation handled even more terribly by an outdated GM. By the time Miller is fading Lack will be our starter. Then Demko will get a few years as back-up before taking over.If JB was on the job we would still have Schneids, signed, and saved about 2 mill vs Miller. But you can't live in the past.We have who we have. Lack is our future starter. It's just a matter of time before he takes over for Miller. Who is solid, but not great. He definitely leaves Lack with some wiggle room. Either he is decent and Lack can lose one, or is pathetic and Lack can outshine him. Either way the tandem is good enough and within a couple of years will shift.Having said all of that, Miller is certainly not performing up to his potential. I thought his time in STL was a fluke. How could his numbers in Buffalo be better? But after spending half a season here I am a little worried. Won't be surprised to see Lack getting more starts. Nuxfanabroad
Be better if Miller got about 55 starts, BU take on 25~27. At his age(with western travel), I'd guess this would be optimal for RM. We're gonna have to deal a 'tender. Hopefully we'll get a good return on JM or Eddie, if necc. TheXFactor
Guys, even the top goalies in the league don't have the consistency Nux fans are asking for. We can't expect every starting goalie we have to play like Quick does in the playoffs. Thing is we have a 34 year old goal tender who's past his prime and yet is still playing great. Be happy with what we have considering how the Schneider-Luongo situation was handled because I suspect there aren't exactly many goalies lining up for a trade to Van. He's been winning with the team, how about supporting him instead of constantly saying how imperfect he is.
