CALGARY!
I don't believe Boston is at all interested in that package. What have any of those players done in the NHL?
Wiznac
To BOS: Zack Kassian, Ryan Stanton, Yannick Weber, Chris Higgins, Linden Vey, Tom Sestito, and Brendan Gaunce To VAN: Dougie Hamilton, Loui Eriksson, Reilly Smith, and Adam Mcquaid Boston saves about a million in cap space while adding LOTS of depth and size. They receive a potential superstar in Kassian while we get a potential top 2 defensemen in Hamilton. Vancouver receives some size, speed, skill and grit. Eriksson has played and thrived in this conference before and Hamilton and Mcquaid would also dominate in the West because of their size. Smith is used to replace Kassians numbers on the 3rd line. Keep in mind that Eriksson has played with the Sedins before which will allow us to rotate Vrbata, Burrows and Eriksson with the Sedins if we're struggling with offense. Hamilton and Mcquaid are upgrades on defence and we should be able to sign them once their contracts have run out because we have the cap space. I think that Gaunce and Jensen are good trading assets because we already have Horvat and Mccann as our 2 way centers so Gaunce is the odd man out. I am willing to give up Kassian ONLY if we get Hamilton in return. What do you guys think? Sedin-Sedin-Vrbata/Eriksson/Burrows Burrows-Bonino-Vrbata/Eriksson/Burrows Matthias-Richardson-Smith Dorsett-Horvat-Hansen Edler-Tanev Hamhuis-Hamilton Mcquaid-Bieksa Miller Lackanother typical cdc quantity for quality trade ...... William_Clarkson
Uh huh. Well: Hamilton>Kassian, Gaunce Erikson>Higgins, Sestito Smith>Vey McQuaid>Stanton, Weber I think we have a problem.
Canucks-12
Love the trade. Let's hope it happens!
1994_fan
This trade is like a hot dog with all the toppins in the store... by the time you bite into it your dog falls on the floor. But if we consider a part, maybe there's something to save this mess. To Bos: Kassian, Stanton, Higgins To Van: Hamilton, McQuaid though I highly doubt Bos will just send us to Ds for 1 in return... So if we add Corrado and then they send us a Pick back, it would be more equitable
Canucks1219
This trade is like a hot dog with all the toppins in the store... by the time you bite into it your dog falls on the floor. But if we consider a part, maybe there's something to save this mess. To Bos: Kassian, Stanton, Higgins To Van: Hamilton, McQuaid though I highly doubt Bos will just send us to Ds for 1 in return... So if we add Corrado and then they send us a Pick back, it would be more equitable That's not even the issue. The issue is that they are giving up their top-2 right-handed defenseman to begin with. How many teams in the league would decimate their top-4, let alone on one side... ever? Especially one with a young player with as huge an upside as Hamilton. You're either getting Hamilton or McQuaid. Not both. Even then, the package of Kassian, Stanton, Higgins, and Corrado would not be anywhere near enough to get Hamilton by himself. Hamilton is a blue chipper and would become a #1 defenseman on the majority of teams in this league. If you're going to get a player that is that valuable to them, you are going to need to give up the same. That would be the likes of Horvat, Shinkaruk, Jensen, Virtanen, McCann, Demko. It wouldn't even work 1-for-1 with any of the names I listed. Hamilton is 21 years old, already an everyday top-4 defenseman, and is producing at 0.44 points per game in his career (0.57 this season). That is extremely impressive for any defenseman, let alone a 21 year old one. Not to mention he is 6'5", skates well, and shoots right (a valuable asset in itself). Gaudette Celly
Canucks aren't trading Kassian, Bruins aren't trading Hamilton. Next?
BCNeil
Come on this has to be a joke. When was the last 11 player 2 team trade?
Baer.
Come on this has to be a joke. When was the last 11 player 2 team trade? January 2, 1992 To Toronto: Doug Gilmour Jamie Macoun Kent Manderville Ric Nattress Rick Wamsley To Calgary: Craig Berube Alexander Godynyuk Gary Leeman Michel Petit Jeff Reese Not 11 players, but even a 5 for 5 trade hasn't happened once during the lockout era. The Lock
Won't happen. They're not going to give up Hamilton for our scraps. For us to get a player like Hamilton we'd likely have to give up a Horvat or a Virtanen, and that might not even be enough.
BCNeil
Yeah looks like the Calgary/Toronto 10 player trade was the biggest in the modern era at least. The Gretzky and Lindros trades were big if you include the picks. Almost all of the trades with more than 6 players involve at least one superstar player. So yeah, this would be the biggest trade in the last several decades of the NHL, and the OP doesn't understand why people think its unrealistic.
