In case of a tie, the winner will be the one with the lowest collective ages (of death). Do not edit your submission or it will be disqualified. Lach is the oldest NHL player still alive and Schmidt is only a few months younger. Both were born in early 1918. It's also crazy that by chance, the oldest two NHL players alive were both legends on their respective teams. Link to comment

Indeed. If I remember correctly, Lach played with Richard and Toe Blake on the famed Punch line. I looked it up and Schmidt played on the Kraut line with Woody Dumart and Bobby Bauer. Link to comment
