Nuxfanabroad
Such a bright future all them yrs ago. This guy seemingly had it all. Now you're talkin' bout someone carrying heavy baggage.

DeltaSwede
Cant believe Girgensons has more votes for the Allstar team than this guy. Allstar. F***ing Allstar.
G.K. Chesterton
Devils should pick him up, he'd fit in there quite nicely. Devils are the new Detroit. Heatley's only played 6 games this year. I think a team desperate for offence (Hurricanes???) should pick him up. He's a cheap, one year signing.
UFCanuck
....That is such a low blow. C'mon man. He's right though.
Fanuck
When you are a thoroughbred stud who is spoonfed for your entire life, honestly do you think he has a clue what to do now that he has to work for it? Even if he goes to Europe, he'll be nothing there either. He knows how to get paid, but obviously not how to work.
c00kies
Luckily he's got an education to fall back on;). He's got millions of dollars to fall back on, so education doesn't really matter.
Green Building
Can't lie, I want to see the oilers claim him for the lulz. You mean trade for right?
Industrious1
Will be interesting to see if another club (not the Canucks) takes a chance on him, there is potential here for one last 'hurrah' I suppose.Amazing how Heatley and Kovalchuk's careers went on different trajectories after they left Atlanta. Wasn't more than ten years ago when these two were both NHL darlings, now one is in Europe and the other is on waivers..easy come, easy go. tas
So, he's played 6 games, the last 5 of which, Anaheim (arguably the best team in the league) has lost. Does anyone think picking him up would be a good idea??? Personally, I think his rapid decline is partially due to the injury from the car accident years ago, catching up to him physically! Sad to see him basically done at 33. personally, i think cancer is a myth.

William_Clarkson
Talk about a one way player. His whole career was based off his shot and he's not even really good enough to stay in the NHL for that long without it.
Canada Hockey Place
Waivers. Sad. He was great once. "Hope Heatley drives the bus".

Patrick Kane
Lol if he can't produce with the best tandem in the league (Getzlaf-Perry) then he's done.
Coconuts
Injuries and a lack of drive really did him in, it's too bad. He should have stayed in Ottawa.
