Brick Tamland
Hedman, Landeskog, Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, Mats Sundin. Just to name a few, 3... quite a few. Hedman is a Dman and Landeskog doesn't even qualify
Executive66
So you think that Nylander is better than McDavid and Reinhart? Ehlers might be on the top line now that Fabbri is out. But that's only because he would not be suited for the third and fourth line. Nylander is the best player behind Ekblad in the 2014 draft and has more experience than McDavid. So yes. 2nd or 1st line center!
Monty
3... quite a few. Hedman is a Dman and Landeskog doesn't even qualify Sorry, you're correct. I'm sure Tampa and Colorado would agree with you as well.

If "best player" means best powerplay player, then yes you're right. But Reinhart is much more rounded and is putting up as many points as Nylander. McDavid is going to go first overall and is the most skilled player in the tournament. No chance either of them get bumped by Nylander.

Your word vs all those GMs that passed over him. Unless you'd like to bump GMMG ot of your best GM ever and put Nonis in his place. The word of a grumpy forum poster vs all those scouts and GMs As right now Reinhardt looks light years better than Nylander, Dal Colle looks solid, Draisatl held his ground on a terrible team and we STILL haven't seen Nylander do much really outside of these tournaments. point projections in the SEL are all well and good but seriously, you're reaching with that claim. Warhippy
He's the next Mats Sundin. Count on it if by that you mean a Swede who never wins a cup, a scoring title, an mvp or league/personal award and disappoints the entire Toronto fan base and who's most memorable goal comes while playing with another team Ya you're probably right

NEON.KNEE
Isn't there a forum rule about staying on topic in threads? Shouldn't a mod come in here and clean up all of this non-Virtanen talk...seriously guys, there is already a Virtanen, Nylander, SHElers and Fat Richard comparison thread in the Prospect section. *edit* LOL...I AM in the comparison thread
Monty
Love how people crap on Nylander because he's not a Canuck. Remember, if history has proven anything, Virtanen will also accomplish nothing in Vancouver.

ForsbergTheGreat
3... quite a few. Hedman is a Dman and Landeskog doesn't even qualify Backstrom, OEL. Peter Forsberg He's the next Mats Sundin. Count on it Sundin had size and used it. He was great at using his size to protect the puck, he had a great shot, and often would go into the corner for a puck battle and come out with the puck, he also knew how to play a defensive game. He was captain material threw and threw. Nylander is a one dimensional offensive player that has none of the qualities that Sundin had. He is talented but he's also not the type of player that takes his team on his back to win the big games. Especially if you think he's a future 1C. Just take a look at the last 10 years and the #1 centers on those teams that one the cup. Kopitar, Toews, Kopitar, Toews, Bergeron, Crosby, Datsyuk, Getzlaf, Staal, All strong players that can play at both ends of the ice. Being a one trick pony gets your a big contract but doesn't help your team win. He'll fit right in TO.

Gaudette Celly
Didn't bother me that the Canucks passed on Ehlers, only because the Jets were able to pick him up. He was exactly the type of player they needed. The Jets futures looks real bright with all the players they've draftd since coming to Winnipeg: - Scheifele: currently playing on Jets, draftd in 2011 - Trouba: drafted in 2012, currently playing for Jets - Lowry: drafted in 2011 in 3rd round, on Jets roster - Morrissey: drafted 2013, will play for Jets next season - Petan: draftd in second round in 2013, about a year or 2 away from playin in NHL, size the only issue - Comrie: drafted second round of 2013, will presumably backup Hutch in a few years - Chase de Leo: looking like a decent selection and will be a good bottom 6 in a few years - Ehlers: Jets needed to have a skilled player on the team to mix in with all the big bodies, perfect player for their team. Will probably play with Jets next season. Had a great camp with them. ?
