The veteran and legendary forward, who signed a one-year, $3.5-million contract to remain with the New Jersey Devils this past summer, has stated that he's open to being moved by the club, whose playoff chances appear to be fading.

"I have no problem with anything," Jagr told Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "It's up to (Devils general manager) Lou (Lamoriello). He knows me. I know him. I've got no problem with (being traded).

"If he wants to move me, he will. If he doesn't, he doesn't. He knows I like it here, but it's all about whatever is best for the team."

Jagr has recorded 21 points in 37 games for the Devils - who may be looking to shed contracts with a view to the future - and certainly has enough left in the tank to help a Stanley Cup contender.

Thoughts?

Would be great to have Jagr come in and be able to shake things up with the Sedins when the Sedin-Vrbata line gets stale.

Not to mention, he could be a great mentor to Kass like Sundin was to Kesler.

It would be cool to watch a legend in Jaromir Jagr play here in Vancouver although I doubt it'd happen.

I would want him here for the mentorship. It would be nice to have someone teach the kids how to be a true professional in the league. Problem is, Benning has been down this road and it didn't turn out in the last playoff run. I personally think his experience would help everyone in the locker room. Including the Sedins.

Hopefully Jersey can get a good pick and prospect for him to help fill some of the hole Kovy and his cap penalty left. If this were happening in Edmonton I bet that "out of respect for Jagr we will allow him to play out the remainder of his contract, thereby getting nothing in return".

I'm a fan of Jagr, but firmly don't want to give anything up to get a rental, and a forward at that. I'd like to see him on a speedy team like the Habs or Lightning, but figure he may end up in Pitts or Long Island.
