(proposal) 3 Trades Canucks-sens-nyi-caps

Recommended Posts

Canucks

Milan Michalek

Sens

Burrows

Michalek needs a change in scenery, and so does Burrows, burrows waves his no trade clause to be an hour and a half drive away from home in Pincourt Quebec.their contracts are the same, close in age, and both have had high levels of success at one point ,so this would be a fair hockey trade.

Canucks

Matt Martin

Islanders

Higgins

Islanders are a team a young team that can actually make a push for eastern conference champions, they need some veteran experience to help them along. Higgins is from New York, doesn't hurt to bring a local boy home for the fans.

Canucks

Troy Brouwer

Caps

Hansen

Matthias

Caps are close to the cap, so they now get two players for the cost of one. They can also make a playoff push out east this year. Caps are thin at center and could use Matthais in the playoffs. Doubt the canucks are going to be able to resign him at seasons end

trades arent bad, michalek is having a poor year and is quite injury prone, but his contract is for only one more season after this.

Brouwer is a local guy, decent player always thought he would be a decent pickup for us.

Martin- i dont think the islanders would want to move him, i think hes a guy you want for the playoffs, but would like to have him for sure

Having Jensen and Vey in the lineup over Richardson and Dorsett, and Corrado over Stanton doesn't make much sense. I know Cdc is rather obsessed with the youth movement, but geez. All three players you have benched can currently make a bigger impact than the rookies.

i agree with what your saying, I dont think the rookies will crack the lineup now. when I made the line up on cap geek I was thinking 2-3 years from now

all three of those trades on their own are losses for Vancouver. Sorry but no thanks. Although it is refreshing to see someone posting who is not overvaluing Vancouver assets lol.

i Think you the one that is "overvaluing Vancouver assets lol"

-Martin is has more value, when you consider He's only 25 and has led the league in hits for 4 years now. and his contract is only 1 million.

-Milan Michalek has accomplished way more then Burrows in the nhl and is 2 years younger and 500 000 cheaper per season.

-Hansen straight up for Brouwer would be a steal for the canucks adding Matthais barelymakes it even considering he is a UFA

Oh I see. In that case, I doubt Richardson or Bieksa will be around in 2-3 years, and I hope the Sedins are no longer in 1st line roles then.

@ Burlinbert: Don't take offense or anything, always nice to read how others value talent and it's neat to see some of the moves people feel they would make to better the Canucks.

Brouwer is probably the better piece of those suggested that would be a nice fit in Vancouver. But Matthias and Hansen ? not a chance that makes any sense, sorry.

Burrows has much more value and is a clutch Playoff performer for Vancouver, I don't really see how Michalek accomplishing more in his career to this point matters, I'd take Burrows over Michalek any day.

While I don't mean to sound like I am over valuing Canucks talent here, Higgins although can produce inconsistently is a workhorse, hardworking valuable player who contributes much more than Martin on a nightly basis. Martin may be a nice fit on the fourth line, but not at the cost of Higgins, one of the harder working top nine forwards around.

Sorry if you to offence to my post in anyway, not my intent lol.

Well i think you have some good ideas with making changes to the line up. But Higgins is a 2/3 line tweener where Martin is a career 4th liner and Burrows has 8 goals this year while Michalek has 9 points so I think I will stick with the guys we have.

I like the Idea of adding Brouwer though.

BUT MARTIN IS YOUNGER CHEAPER BIGGER AND STRONGER. PLAYERS LIKE HIGGINS CAN BE REPLACED VIA SANTORELLIS AND RAYMONDS OF THE LEAGUE, PLAYERS LIKE MARTIN ARE A RARE BREED

Sorry if you to offence to my post in anyway, not my intent lol. NONE TAKEN
