Tom Sestito
Possible suspension threads on CDC are fun. They're full of "wheel of justice posts" "canucks r hated by bettman" Regarding the actual hit, Hit to the head, but again it's been inconsistent this year. I don't think it's going to be suspended because they didn't suspend the bull Robidas pulled on Matthias. A fine is what I expect - AT MOST, and I think it's fair. What do you guys think? Nuxfanabroad
Probably another bogus ruling, & nothing would surprise me with NHL Hindquarters. Just happy Jannik was healthy & could play the last couple, after the Flamer-scare.
viking mama
Edler also clipped a guy's visor in a previous game, while on a relatively slow & steady trajectory towards the puck along the boards.,..& what did he get? 3 games! This looks like another visor-clipping or shoulder riding-up from the body,...& if those hits on Matthias were deemed clean & went un-punished,... & if Edler's contact at that time was deemed vicious by comparison. ...what are we left to believe other than - the justice or discipline given over to Canucks' players by this league will always be far into another realm & more severe than those served upon the majority of their opponents in similar circumstances. What if we could simply stack or seed the DPS with players who have had very favorable associations or affiliations with the Vancouver Canucks organization & their players,..like say - Salo, Jovanovski, Ohlund, Sundin, or Naslund? Let's see if the DPS interpretations of events or the results of those hearings would be any different, then - eh? I assure you they would be...because when subjectivity is involved, there is always a certain skew within the eye of the beholder. By the way - the son of our division-rival & CGY Flames Pres. Brian Burke (Patrick ) & the rest of Burkie's good friends & O-6 affiliated appointees on the DPS....collectively chime-in to say - "HI"! Just have the NHLPA elect members of the DPS to terms of service,... with some regional affiliation or representation assured. It's the only way for the power & influence currently exercised by the king-pin appointed DPS, to be properly dispursed.
spook007
10 games to Edler... Believe the correct term is 'the wheel of justice'... Have no problems with suspensions, have a big problem with in consistency... Too bad if he gets suspended, as he has been the stand out player recently. Nuxfanabroad
Aah VM..that motley crew you've just described(last sentence), I can picture talking dirty in a seedy cafe, to plan their dirty deeds..Sorta' like the start of Reservoir Dogs. Madonna lyrics analysis... Which one of that ilk is Mr Pink?!

Madonna lyrics analysis... Which one of that ilk is Mr Pink?! ^LOL@ this. http://youtu.be/4W5KhfJHF_4 The sad thing is,...because so many of the DPS members are of the same ilk,...there's likely never a dissenting opinion among 'em. That's all I ask,...some other perspectives or points of view on this DPS,... that aren't pre-vetted to be O-6/ So-Cal or CGY ingratiated. Why cant anyone else see this flaw in the process? There was a systemic over-sight here by the NHLPA & these owners. Of course, Bettman, Jacobs & Burkie are happier than pigs in slop about it, tho'. Someone's gotta fix this,...or we have the tail wagging the dog....and these players will remain confused about where the 'real' threshold-standards lie. Nuxfanabroad
Hey man, We're (mostly) all squandering filthy lucre to fund an excellent camping adventure(w/ toy cars & babes) down south, for 300~500 of our luckiest young men. Pick yer God to pray to; smoke'em if ya got'em; & start fresh tomorrow. (full disclosure:I invest my time, not my money)
shiznak
If he does get a suspension, it'll probably be 2 games max. I honestly didn't think it was that bad of a hit.
ice orca
That vid is pretty grainy, if you look at it real close Hansen looks like he might of clipped his shoulder first.
alfstonker
It's like the Burr one for me, not necessary. Why take the risk. I don't think Hansen meant to contact the head but then you are not allowing for the actions of the other player who may change angle or dip his head at the last split second. As I say nothing gained and not necessary.
JeremyCuddles
1-2 games. Max.
Toews
Based on the way the head snapped back it looks like he did make contact with the head. We need a clearer video to know exactly where first contact was made. But based on the video in the OP I think Hansen will have a hearing.
Nas19
Probably a fine. The guy didn't get hurt after all and apparently that is all that matters when it comes to ruling if a guy should be suspended or not. Seeing what I've seen the last few years I wouldn't be surprised if Hansen got suspended though, as we are the Canucks and we almost always get shafted in situations like these. ActiveDouble
Wingles is those types of guys that need to keep there head up. His head on this play was up ONCE he took the shot. Hansen I'm sure didn't intentionally try to hurt him. Hansen doesn't do that kind of dirty stuff. If he does get suspended I'm looking for 1 game. 2 games tops. This is the kind of bull that should get you suspended. However league's going to screw this up.
SabreFan1
It's definitely suspension worthy, but anything more than a game or two would be bulls*it. It wasn't a malicious hit, it was just a stupid, careless, heat of competition thing. Unfortunate, but it happens.
Industrious1
Probably get a game or two.Which is a shame since he has really picked up his play in the last couple.
EdgarM
Although the league has been inconsistant with suspensions or non-suspensions with players who have had illegal hits on Canuck players, they have been consistant on suspending Canuck players and so it is a given he will be suspended. The only unknown will be how many games. I am sure we will go back to the excuse that "We need to protect players from head shots" .........again. This is the same guy that launched himself 10ft into the boards from a tap from Daniel friggin Sedin it OT in the playoffs, one of the best sell jobs ever. Ghostsof1915
From the replay, and it's not easy to see I'd hope it would just be a fine. Knowing it's the Canucks. 4 games.
