JeremyCuddles
Always liked Allen. But being at the tail end of his career see no value in us taking a stab at him. Hope he finds a home somewhere.

Mackcanuck
If we claim him he has to play. If he clears waivers, could trade Sestito for Allen Sestito could protect MTL team smurf and Allen could give us some depth on Defence Both could be sent up and down after clearing

If he clears waivers, could trade Sestito for Allen Sestito could protect MTL team smurf and Allen could give us some depth on Defence Both could be sent up and down after clearing That smurf team is 1st overall. If they didn't need Sestito thus far I doubt they want him now. As for Allen, no thanks.

sampy
Guess that trade didn't work out They traded Bourque, who they waived and had an extra year on his contract. Actually that trade really did work for Montreal.
D-Money
Wow, his stock has fallen a lot. Still, you have to think a team with a weak D-core and/or injuries will take him for nothing. Dallas probably would, had they not just picked up Schlemko off waivers.
Baer.
Couldn't see a team pick him up, not a lot of teams hurting for a 7th dman.

Of course it's not unlimited roster moves, but he could be useful for depth for us with Hamhuis out at least. I still don't think it'd be quite worth it, probably not directly as a waiver pick up for sure, but maybe not even as mentioned. Someone could likely use him, similar to how Dallas picked up Schlemko.
Absent Canuck
That smurf team is 1st overall. If they didn't need Sestito thus far I doubt they want him now. As for Allen, no thanks. Ducks are 1st overall then Nashville. Montreal is tied with Chicago for 3rd
D-Money
Bryan Allen still costs a team 3.5 in salary and 2.6 in cap hit when he's in the minors. So I don't think any team without an NHL roster spot will be eager to acquire him for depth on the farm.

Carl's Jn
for the playoffs you can have anyone up salary cap doesn't count... allen would be good depth... plus he familiar with the canucks.

It's not the playoffs, it's January. He takes up money and 1 of our only 2 roster spots left. Picking him up would be a terrible idea. The only way I'd do this is the way Mack said. Wait till he clears waivers and trade spare parts for him. Even then Hammer will back in 2 or 3 weeks and we will be stuck with him. Sorry to say, but he's done, and we don't need him. patrickd73
For a 7th, he costs way way too much.
hlaevang
I would only consider taking him if we are in a serious position to take run in the playoffs. You have to wonder though why Montreal placed him on waivers after only acquiring him a month or so ago...
