2SKATES1STICK
For those that want him, remember that it's 2015, not 2003. BUT 2003
Rick Grimes
BUT 2003 He'd sell some jerseys, and be an amazing off ice mentor for Zack Kassian for starters, I'm sure I could come up with some other reasons/excuses to sign/give Bert a chance, lol
*VaNcOuVeRCaNuCkS*
I wouldn't mind signing him to a 2-way contract, that way he can just play in Utica and come up if needed. I'm hoping he can work his way back on to an NHL roster, even if it's not with us. You do realise a 2 way contract has nothing to do with waivers right? All 2 way means is he has a different salary in the NHL then the AHL
VegasCanuck
At least he has some hockey left in him. Refuses to hang up the skates. He would rather play in the AHL than not play at all. Gotta give him some respect for that. I don't think its a case of him having some hockey left in him, as much as its probably a case of not having much left in the bank after settling the law suit with Moore! Burnsey
Wouldn't hate getting him for one last season but our 4th line seems to be set, which is likely where he'd end up on the team. In addition, could you imagine the media storm here? It's been a very long time since the incident - 10 years i think? - and every year they still seem to bring it up one way or another. It's start to become like 'The Trade' articles, reports etc. that pop up every year too.

All 2 way means is he has a different salary in the NHL then the AHL I think the point was that he'd be cheaper when spending time in the AHL, but I'd assume he'd sign for less than $900K anyway so it wouldn't matter for the cap (and I'm not too sure anyone would be claiming him). If he gets signed, I don't think Aquilini is too worried about a contract under a million for Bert.

Lancaster
Probably still an upgrade over Kassian now (sad, but honest truth). As a shootout specialist, bottom-6 RW who can slot up on the top-6 when needed and as a guy on the 2nd PP unit... sure. Unfortunately, there's no room for him in the lineup. The wingers are: Kassian, Burrows, Matthias, Hansen, Dorsett, Higgins. Dorsett's role is secure on the 4th line. Kassian stays just because of his so-called "potential". Matthias is intriguing, but you can't move him because he's at an all-time low and he can still turn his game around. So that just leaves Burrows, Hansen and Higgins. Hansen provides speed and his contract is smaller.... could easily be moved, but why would you? Higgins is affordable for most teams, but his NTC may prove to be a problem. Burrows with NTC and 4.5 million per season, so there's probably no takers.
grandmaster
I loved this guy and would give him the try out. If he doesn't have it any more, then so bet it. A PTO doesn't hurt anyone. If he shows something pretty good, then go for it. Age is not the big factor people make it out to be. Look at Jagr.

Me_
Just hire Bertuzzi to hang out with Kassian. That is how you get that freight train to develop.

JeremyCuddles
Imagine Bert and Kass on the 4th line together, that'd be cool. Bert on his off wing? Isn't he RWer too? I'd rather have Bert chill in the press box til we hit a slew of injuries. Have Bert mentor Kassian to becoming a legit Power forward.
The Horvatian One
It would be pretty cool to see Bert in a Nucks uni again Didn't Morrison get a tryout a few years ago with the Canucks aswell?
brownky
My mistake. For whatever reason I thought that was the rule. Either way, I wouldn't mind having him back. If you've played the NHL games for the past 10 years that's probably why, they've never, ever gotten that part right. They've misled so many people from how it's really done with how they handle contracts and waiver eligibility.

I haven't really gotten into an NHL game in a few years, but it might have stayed with me from then. Can't say I'm surprised they didn't get it right. These are also the same games that mispronounce player names year after year.

He did, in the 2010-2011 season I believe. I still wish we signed him then.

He had a great training camp but for some reason Gillis signed Peter Schaefer instead. If I remember correctly Morrison ended up signing with the Flames and had a pretty decent season. CookieCrumbs
Still serviceable. I'm all for it. Nostalgia playing a part? Probably. Don't care, would love it if we gave him a PTO and he played in our bottom 6 for a season or two.
