TheRussianRocket.
Chris Higgins [$2.5 x 3]Tom Sestito [$0.750 x 1]Cody Franson [$3.300 x 1] Leafs get a serviceable 2nd/3rd line winger in Higgins on a respectable contract. Helps Toronto as they lack quality wingers and always seem to have wingers injured. Higgins will chip in offensively and can play the kill. Also get a depth forward in Sestito. Franson is reported asking for too much money for the Leafs to make possible. He's a BC native, a RH shot, and a top 4 dman. Leafs trade him and get fair value for a player they won't be able to keep.Zack Kassian [$1.750 x 2]Kevin Bieksa [$4.6 x 2]Brendan Gaunce[$1.026 x 3]Milan Lucic [$6.000 x 2] Bruins get what they want all in this trade. A younger replacement for Lucic in Kassian, a physical top 4 dman who has their type of mentality, and a young centre prospect which they lack who has all the tools to become a NHLer. How good he becomes will be up to Boston to determine. Also relieves the future cap situation for the B's not having to worry to extend Lucic and get their team tied up in too much money. Canucks get a sure thing entering his prime which they hoped Kassian would become and more importantly a bonified top 6 winger. 3 for 1 deal and with JB's relationship with Chiarelli, he may not ask Jim for a huge overpayment making a mutual deal for both sides.2015 4th round pick [changes to 2015 7th rounder if Sustr doesn't re-sign]Andrej Sustr [$0.874 x 1] Tampa had a surplus of defensemen and won't be able to keep them all come seasons end. Basically Kings-Vey scenario 2.0. Vancouver gets a towering dman at 6'8" who skates well for his size and is good in his own zone. Offense capability isn't there but can chip in once in a while. Tampa gets a mid round pick in a deep draft which they're always willing to add. Player ages traded away Bieksa (33), Higgins (31), Sestito (27), Kassian (23), Gaunce (20), pick (18)average age: 25.3Player ages trades for Franson (27), Lucic (26), Sustr (24)average age: 25.6 Not a huge discrepancy in age difference. Get rid of some aging guys that will begin regressing sooner than later and get some prime aged players while giving back fair value to fulfill teams needs/wants and considering the situation those teams are in. While we give away some relatively young pieces as well, you have to when you're getting these types of players back and it's manageable for Vancouver. Gaunce gone, have Horvat/McCann/Cassels in the system. Kassian & Higgins replaced by Lucic & Jensen. Bieksa by Franson & Sustr. Pick can be compensated with a college signing. Daniel - Henrik - Vrbata Lucic - Bonino - Burrows Matthias - Richardson - Jensen Dorsett - Horvat - Hansen Vey Edler - Tanev Hamhuis - Franson Sbisa - Stanton Sustr, Weber Miller Lack
Mimerez
Question is, will Bieksa waive? He's said before he wants to stay, through the good and bad.
Outsiders
Don't think the Laughs do that deal. Higgins 3rd liner and Tom (AHLer) + they have Orr for a second pairing d-man. Also Franson is going to want 5 + million at the end of the season. Second deal i like! 3rd deal. Not sure i don't know a lot about Suster but i don't think a 4th is enough for a 6'8 d-man. Plus we have Tryamkin and Pedan
Ryan Strome
I think all 3 of those trades would be rejected especially the Toronto trade.
Gaudette Celly
Chris Higgins [$2.5 x 3]Tom Sestito [$0.750 x 1]Cody Franson [$3.300 x 1]Zack Kassian [$1.750 x 2]Kevin Bieksa [$4.6 x 2]Brendan Gaunce[$1.026 x 3]Milan Lucic [$6.000 x 2]2015 4th round pick [changes to 2015 7th rounder if Sustr doesn't re-sign]Andrej Sustr [$0.874 x 1] 1. Toronto would be offered far better. 2. Absolutely NO. No bailout youth rebuild jumpstart for Boston, and no cheap-shotting punk on the downside for Vancouver. 3. Benning has indicated he wants to accumulate picks this year, not trade any more.
Warhippy
So Bruins get what THEY want and then some. WTF do we get from that trade man? Lucicken? a hole in our top 4 and the loss of Kassian who on a 3rd line is potting equivalent numbers to Lucic plus the loss of one of my favorite prospects in gaunce bar none We may have redundant C prospects but I see WAY to much subtraction for not nearly enough addition on that Boston trade Pass on that for sure. KB is a bottom pairing defender with a high cap hit, Kassian(I really like him)really doesn't have much value at the moment and Gaunce has been a healthy scratch, so ya no fear cause Boston would never accept. Utica players take turns, as they have a large roster and just played 3 games in 3 nights.

Blueberries
Pretty sure Bieksa would rather retire than have to be Marchand's teammate.
Phil_314
Question is, will Bieksa waive? He's said before he wants to stay, through the good and bad. Every time someone brings that kind of question up I think about when Iginla and Smyth left in trades before becoming UFA's. Hope Jim can pull off a similar deal (NOT saying I agree with getting Lucic though). Would love it also if we can get Franson after moving Kevin but agreed that the price may not be right, esp. if this trade were to happen at the deadline. He'd easily get a 1st + from any team (e.g. Detroit? Edmonton?)
TheRussianRocket.
No one will trade a 1st round pick for Franson. He's an upcoming UFA and looking for top dollars. The risk of him not signing is not worth a 1st. Franson is an inconsistent defender but has the tools, kind of like Kassian. TO management is ticked off at the inconsistent effort from players and Franson is reported to be asking for too much so it makes sense for them to trade him and get some value rather than letting him walk. Maybe add in a mid round pick in the deal to make it more fair? Other than that, no team will pay a price as big as some are making. & only way Franson works is with Hamhuis to cover up his mistakes and help him, basically like Bieksa. komodo1970
1) Like Cody Franson, but firmly believe he's going to test free agency. I'd rather wait until then to see what the price is going to be and take a shot at him then. 2) Not really into Lucic being a Canuck. History, bad attitude, poor sportsmanship and lack of production are beginning to wear his welcome in Boston out. Why do we want to take his problems on here? I think it's better to keep grooming Kassian for the power forward role here. If Bieksa was, hypothetically, on the block, I would much rather use him in a deal for JVR. He may be more willing to waive his NTC for a shot to go home. 3) I don't know much about Sustr but do have to agree with other posters who believe it would take much more than a mid to low draft pick to acquire a 6'8" defender. The Bolts may not be in a hurry to do anything. Last time I looked, they were fairing pretty well.

They could use the depth support. Be a good 3rd liner capable of playing 2nd line minutes if needed.
