awalk
I don't understand that can someone explain? To "draw" is to raise your gun to shoot in a gun duel. It's a play on words. The cartoonist "drew" by drawing satirical images that offended the gunman's views, so the gunman "drew" his weapon and shot the artist. I love it. Keep taking the piss indeed. awalk
What if the guy who made that gets shot Then the gunman would be a coward who cannot accept having his or her beliefs challenged or mocked, nor can they change the beliefs of others using his or her words. Buddhas Hand
Pulled this from www.answering-islam.org/Humor/ I found that humor in religious matters is a rather rare thing among Muslims. Definitely on Islamic web pages. But everything is so much easier if we can lighten up a bit and don't take ourselves so overly serious. Yes, we are talking about serious matters, yes, let us apply all our mind and heart to it. But I am convinced that God is far more pleased with us if we are able to laugh at our own imperfections, knowing that the ultimate truth belongs to God alone and each of us only has a small piece of it. In this spirit I hope that these collected "humor pages" will help to relax the atmosphere of our dialog. Too often Muslim - Christian interaction is far too tense. Let us remind each other that we are all human and let us laugh together. When we see each other as brothers in infirmity, maybe the danger of becoming "enemies" has at least diminished. Like any group of people their are good mulslims and bad muslims and as these words point out we should all laugh at our imperfections and by doing this we are more likely to see each others as brothers, nobody is perfect. sam13371337
These guys were very pro... good chance of them being ex. "freedom fighters" from Syria or Libya... or received training and motivation from it... They did not spray and pray the police car. They shot in controlled/ effective bursts. and they executed an injured policeman on the ground without flinching (liveleak has the vid out already) the way they also scanned the area would indicate them having some sort of combat experience. If this does not make the French public question their governments Syria/Libya policies. then nothing will. one other thing to note. almost all these terrorists, terrorirst groups from al Qaeda, isis, Taliban, al nusra, book haram, al shabab and just about any other one you can think of have 1 thing in common They are Salafi sunni muslims. Salafism is the extreme brand of islam that thinks all other muslims are infidels worthy of conversion or death, with the same applying to every other religion . the most hateful/intolerant brand of islam. which is the official religion of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. which Saudi Arabia spends 10s of billions yearly promoting. by building madrassas in places like Pakistan that pump out terrorists daily... if one wants to sh*t on islam, they should at least direct their hate towards the right sect. salafi islam is the bubonic plague of the earth. RUPERTKBD
stealth shut that one down and opened this one. they have video of the guys getting into a car, they should be able to see who owns that car and go from there. I've been following this story on CBC since this morning. Apparently, the shooters got into an accident with the getaway vehicle and then carjacked someone and fled in a second vehicle. The article didn't say if the owner of the second vehicle was harmed... According to the Guardian the suspects have been arrested : http://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2015/jan/07/shooting-paris-satirical-magazine-charlie-hebdo Ummm....not according to that link... CBC is now saying that French police have Identified the three shooters, two of whom were French nationals. They are still searching for the three. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/charlie-hebdo-paris-shooting-12-dead-after-gunmen-storm-newspaper-s-hq-1.2892151
desiboynux4lifee*******
Yes. Stop, lol please If any sikh ends up killing over a cartoon, than my friend you are not a true sikh. This seems to be the problem with Religion and you guys nailed it. Religion is about experiencing god, but people make it about themselves; almost like a gang,"our gang is better than yours" Also all of the religions masters, teachers,,etc never harmed anyone. For instance in sikhism Guru Teghbahdur gave his head for hinduism, In chirstianity jesus was considered wrong because he spoke to women, so people use to throw stones at him. lol funny eh. The teachers were actual teachers of peace, yet the followers are bunch ---------- you fill in the blanks. lol.
FramingDragon
Every time something like this happens, I can't decide which group is more entertaining to observe: the ones that froth in the mouth talking about freedom and rights without touching the clearly inflammatory content espoused or the ones that demand that no criticism of touchy subject should exist because of the consequences. Amidst the madness, ignorance and hypocrisy rear their ugly heads. It really blows my mind that supposedly intelligent folks continue to assume these events occur in the vacuum of just the published artwork and subsequent angry response driven by faith. ("lol why can't Muslims just take a joke, they hate freedom ") The reality is that these events release geopolitical and socioeconomic tensions between two sides that have been pent up from other stresses. The conflation of these murky variables with the religious demographic as a whole is frankly just as stupid on your part as it is on the ones that also made the mistake to think it's a direct attack on their faith. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall Indonesia or Malaysia, or Turkey for that matter, having as volatile a reaction as the immigrant Muslim communities in Europe who have had strained relationships with their respective governments due to unfair laws or the Middle Easterners highly critical of Western foreign policies (both are viable reasons to be mad, given its for the right reasons to the responsible parties). Instead, they are releasing pent up anger of one thing towards one that's mostly irrelevant. It's not helping to focus on the debate of satire and censorship when the things that contribute to such a strained relationship is ignored from both sides. According to some reports, they also had inside information on the goings-on at Charlie Hedbo. Most of the people killed were senior staff members who were at an editorial meeting in the office. A reporter from Charlie Hedbo told French newspaper, Le Monde that the attackers had to know about the meeting, otherwise they office would have few people on the premises.
