Pears
I'd do Gaunce + + Yakupov is going to start lighting it up on a different team. He had a great rookie season till Eakins coached all the creativity and confidence out of him.I would too. Just depends on what the ++ is. Maybe Gaunce, Corrado, Hansen? Monty
??? Yakopov has 9 points in 40 games And he's a minus 20 Playing on the second line in his third NHL season. Horvat as a rookie has 7 in 25 playing on the fourth. So he's worth the Oilers 2015 first round pick, likely to be McDavid or Eichel, plus two second round draft picks? Giant Inflatable Beaver
Oh hell no. Horvat is the type of player you can win Cups with. Yakupov is the type of player you might win a KHL championship with.
carlweezer
Oilers don't need a centre, They have RNH and Draisaittl Plus 1 of Mcdavid Eichel Strome Marner That's pretty solid for the future down the middle. If the Oilers were to target anyone in the Canucks system it would be Lack Tanev Kasssian Demko
Guest Cuporbust2
So he's worth the Oilers 2015 first round pick, likely to be McDavid or Eichel, plus two second round draft picks? Actually I didn't read the post u quoted till now. I thought u meant for yak strait up. Lol. Ya that's ridiculous obviously.
Warhippy
There is a full page spread on my homepage as to "where has Yakupov Gone" The kid doesn't want to be in Edm and has less value than most could or would believe. He is literally worth maybe Burrows and a 2nd? Higgins and a 2nd and 3rd? A defensive prospect and a pick in the mid round? Seriously even Yashin took less nights off than him. Even Kovalev looked more interested. Horvat for Yakupov? Just throwing it out there? Reel it in son...reel it in
Kevin-B
I'd prefer to keep Horvat. Although unlikely in my opinion, a few rumors were cruising the web that St.Louis was shopping TJ Oshie...nothing stating a possible Vancouver trade and I can't imagine the Blues really wanting to offload him. Warhippy
In a heartbeat, Oilers wouldn't though. They could land a bigger fish for a 1st overall. See Alex Daigle

He'd be a waste on the third line and would be better off traded for a top notch D prospect to play with Nurse in the future. Nurse - _____ Klefbom - Schultz Marincin - _____ That's not a bad future if they don't rush Nurse.
Mathew Barzal
No. Yakupov has 9 points this season... That's less than Dorsett and the same number of points as Chris Tanev!!!!! Not to mention he's a huge defensive liability. I wouldn't judge any current Oilers player because of the environment and culture they are subjected to. I think any of those 1st rounders would be MUCH better off on a different team. Especially RNH.

While Draisaitl would be redundant, the Oilers (should they get Eichel or McDavid) could immediately improve their defensive unit if they were to part ways with RNH. Draisaitl would land them a prospect that hasn't proven much (or anything). Moving RNH could get them immediate help (i.e. Yandle, Bogosian). They hold their current value as is. And sadly, Yakupov is holding less value than an opened can of tuna in a dollar store

Added the $6 million in cap space (Although I wouldn't trade RNH as he's trending to far in the right direction as a player and as a team they'd regret what they know more than what they don't in Draisatl) would be very attractive. Honestly out of that lot, I'd trade Eberle/Hall/Yakupov as a 1-2-3 of MacDavid or Eichel, RNH and Draisatl if they all hit their projected development paths would be lights frigging out in this league. Wingers are a shade easier to find than bona fide star centers

And sadly, Yakupov is holding less value than an opened can of tuna in a dollar store I think another factor is that he strikes me as a very high flight risk to the khl after this season unless he gets a plum offensive role and big money. I would trade spare parts for him at this point but certainly not a gamer like Horvat.

Fateless
I'd keep Horvat. Yakupov has proven nothing in the NHL on a team with no depth. Although its hard to put up big numbers on a team like Edmonton, other stand-out players like Hall and Eberle still manage to show they can play, yet Yakupov flounders. We don't know where Horvat is going to end up. He has the body, skill and vision to have a potential first-line down the line. Why would we give up a local boy who is so excited about playing for this team with a high potential for a player with a bad attitude, poor performance and doesn't have a connection to this team?
