[BCHL] Chilliwack Chiefs Jordan Kawaguchi AMAZING Pass

That whole sequence was pretty sick indeed.

Very creative with the puck. Is he draftable? When's he draftable? Lol.

He's 17 now. He looks like he'll be a pretty high pick, being anywhere from a 1st or early 2nd, depending on how he does in the tournament upcoming.

People will say that he has size issues, being at 5'8 and 165 lbs, so it will depend on how strong he'll be to make it to the NHL.

He's an Abby kid. Not sure if we'll be picking a forward with our early picks.

Unrelated to his performance but he's related to Devin Setoguchi.

BCHL players are never high round picks and plus he has his size issue, I predict he'll be a 4th Rounder and could go as high as the 3rd Round.

I didn't immediately realize that, but come to think of it, it IS pretty rare to see BCHL players drafted so high.

Is it an inferior league or something? Why is that?

BCHL is junior A, most kids who play in the BCHL go onto the play in the NCAA and play hockey there along with getting their education. There is a couple of really good 16 year olds (2016 NHL Draft) in the BCHL, Tyson Jost and Dante Fabbro who are expected to go in the 1st round but their stock might drop because most of the talent in the West plays in the WHL. The WHL gets top-notch development, they play alot of games, have the playoffs and get recognized more often because their games are televised.

Great response. I did read online that Kawaguchi was a former "Yale product", which seemed to make sense. It seems that 87Crosby would be right. This guy would be a 3rd rounder at best - most likely a 4th or 5th round pick.

Steve Kariya 2.0

It's funny you say that. He's not related to Kariya, so there goes your moot point out the window.

The only reason why you use Kariya is because they're Japanese-Canadian.

Now, he's actually related to Setoguchi, who's currently in the AHL right now, but was once a go-to guy in SJ and still produced decent numbers in Minnesota before falling off the trail that he is now. Still, much better than Steve Kariya for sure.

You can take your hate and shove it.
