skolozsy2
I was thinking 8 games. Unnecessary, intent to injure, a repetitive repeat offender...probably deserved a few games more.

elvis15
His last suspension was 10 games reduced to 6, and the one previous to that (going back to Jan 2012) was 7 games. He was likely to get a higher amount for that reason. Too bad though, since my first that was it was strange for the DoPS to finally start taking suspensions seriously on a cross-check call. In this case, it's just about the repeat offender (8 suspensions and 3 fines in his career). EDIT: And of course he can have this one reduced possibly too since it's more than 5 games. Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC 24m Should be noted that because Carcillo's suspension is longer than 5, he has right to appeal
Alex Burrows 14
Should have been longer

Tortorella's Rant
Seems heavy, repeat offender I guess Should be. What is the point of one or two games. Marchand got two games for his third suspension. Not to mention he's been fined several times as well for such crap.
aGENT
Pretty soon he'll just give himself a lifetime ban from the NHL like the rest of the league's goons are slowly doing.

Hobble
With such a pointless, needlessly aggressive plays like that, with arguable intent to injure, I think the suspended player should be out for as long as the injured player is. Now, the Blackhawks line-up actually improves by getting this scumbag off of it, while the Jets lose one of their hottest scorers at the moment for who knows how long. viking mama
Pretty soon he'll just give himself a lifetime ban from the NHL like the rest of the league's goons are slowly doing. ^It's still about the jersies that they wear. The enabled O-6's are continually shielded from proper discipline,..& for longer periods of time ,than the rest. That's why a buffoon like Sean Avery managed to stay in the league as long as he did. Compare Edler's suspension history in the NHL & those so-called infractions,... to that of Carcillo & Marchand? The dirt clings on those 2 guys, who currently wear CHI & BOS jersies ,...yet there's NO escalation in the length of suspension time to equal the escalation & repetition for their disregard for their fellow union brothers & their safety. But, Edler seems to have been punished more,... fbecause of 1 wayward act that occurred out of the NHL's jurisdiction, while playing he was playing in an international hockey tournament,...more so - than anything he has allegedly done with intent , while playing in the NHL. The IIHF deals quickly & justly with the infractions they are requited to deal with in their jurisdiction...but they don't go around - inflicting some form of carry-over justice & re-punishing players for deeds that may have occurred in a player's past, ... while not under their direct officiating or control. There is a reason why Marchand & Carcillo have NOT been chosen to represent their countries in international competition, since junior and for some years. Their self-discipline in such tournaments games,...or respect for their opponents on-the-ice,...can no longer be trusted. This mainly because the NHL has failed to properly enforce punitive measures against them. I dare say,...that Alex Edler will continue to be a force on the Swedish national team for some time, tho. The NHL is seeded full of committees & puppet entities who are beholding & heavily influenced by their very powerful puppet masters. Pray for a new BOG Chairman or a new NHL Commissioner,... to be the start of something, at th very least different,..if not - better!
RonMexico
There is a reason why Marchand & Carcillo have NOT been chosen to represent their countries in international competition, since junior and for some years. Their self-discipline in such tournaments games,...or respect for their opponents on-the-ice,...can no longer be trusted. Or the reason is that there are better players available and it has nothing to do with their style of play.
