NHL Central Scouting's 2015 midterm rankings

Would love to see the Canucks snag another late first round pick. This draft is really deep with talent that we could get quite a few stud players with 2 first rounders...going to be hard though to find someone to bite on giving up a first round pick though.

It's making me excited for this upcoming draft so many options and so many good prospects!

Roy? Probably for a good reason.

Actually Roy is not the first one. Chabot is, first time I hear about him though. (Actually Zboril is first, but he's Czech.)

Also I think the NHL's rank is probably the most bias ranking there is. Pretty sure NHL wants to please everyone so, they try to incorporate every league in their ranking rather than just picking the best.

Still the best ranking is Bob Mckenzie's since he actually speak directly with team mngt/scouts and his ranking is pretty much based on a poll from the NHL teams. So much more accurate since these team will actually pick those players

Holy crap this draft year is strong. We should secure as many picks as possible.

When a solid player like Rasmus Andersson is ranked 84th, you have to go through this list with a fine-tooth comb, not just assume the higher-ranked guy is actually better.

It looks like all the rankings beyond the top-3 are a bit murky. It appears that every team in the league is capable of drafting a solid, solid player if they play their cards right.

fire sale?

&^@# that.

We have to ship out one of Lack/Markstrom in the off-season. I don't think we will get a 1st but maybe a 2nd or 3rd.

If Kassian wants out at some point or if a team gives us an offer that is simply hard to refused then we could get more picks from moving Kassian. Otherwise keep Kassian.

At least one of Burrows, Higgins, Matthias or Hansen need to be moved. Maybe Kassian (if the rumours of his demise aren't greatly exaggerated) as an alternative.

One of Lack/Markstrom need to be moved.

At least one of Hamhuis, Bieksa, Tanev, Sbisa, Stanton, or Corrado (possibly two if we pick up that elusive, offensive RHD) need to be moved.

One of Weber/Sanguinetti need to be moved (and one re-signed).

Should be able to snag some picks out of some of that.

More points than the more defensive minded WHL?

QMJHL is an offensively minded league, so the pts from there are going to be very skewed. That's what I was trying to bring up.

IMHO, I think Stanton's going to be traded away.

Corrado's probably going to be promoted.
