Justin Bieber Will Be Roasted on Comedy Central [March 7th]

It’s official: Justin Bieber will be roasted on Comedy Central. The network announced Tuesday that Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber will tape in Los Angeles at a date and time still to be determined, though it already has a hashtag, #BieberRoast.

“Justin has been asking us for a few years to roast him, and we just kept telling him to go create more source material first. We’re thrilled he listened,” Kent Alterman of Comedy Central said in a statement. In a remarkably similar choice of words, Bieber tweeted out the news:

The fact that Bieber was tasked with creating more “source material” for the roast, does raise the specter of whether all of Bieber’s behavior (beef! drag races! spankings! drugs! monkeys!) has just been part of his effort to give Comedy Central the source material they were seeking. Perhaps Bieber is displaying Andy Kaufman levels of commitment to the task.

Over the weekend, he proved he could take a joke after he tweeted “Well played. LOL.” in response to the send-up of his new Calvin Klein ads by Saturday Night Live actresses Kate McKinnon (as the pop star) and Cecily Strong (as the female model).

It is nonsensical for him to risk his career just to be roasted on Comedy Central.

I think he doesn't have a 'huge' ego; however, his behavior really is out of control and he needs to be mature. He does seem to be able to laugh at himself, which seems to indicate how serious he takes himself (not very much) and he doesn't have too many expectations.

I hope they murder his career, pee on the ashes, throw the ashes down a river and then launch whatever is left of the Uber Douche into the god damned sun.

At least the kid has some talent and actually deserved his fame (before he didn't though). One Direction though, those guys have no talent, make terrible music and are famous just cause they look nice to the girls. When they get older, their fall will be steep.

They keep trying to be like the backstreet boys but they are no where near. No one will listen to their music ten years from now.

Seems like an attempt to parlay this into some sort of Justin Timberlake transformation. I don't think it happens. Timberlake had a huge support group to ensure his transformation from boy band star to actor while Bieber has had to resort to using just the tabloids and a bunch of stupid acts. Ultimately, Bieber's career is as doomed as Vanilla Ice.

How does this not apply to Bieber as well? At least the guys from One Direction seem like good people.

If that's true, I just might have to grudgingly give him a little bit of respect.

Crap, now I feel dirty... I need a shower

No one other than 13 year old One Direction fans listen to their music now. Ten years from now they will show up on some "remembering the 2010s" album as a token track. I couldnt list a single One Direction song I have ever heard and if I heard them on the radio I would not be able to tell who it is.

Bieber is no different. Forgettable throw away music in every way. His music is weak, his voice is weak and the songs have no staying power. The fact that he dresses like a complete idiot doesnt help. Hes the fast food of the music industry.
