Bigturk8
He should have retired a career Devil. It's a shame really, but still one of, if not the most impressive goalie careers of all time. End of an era.

I'll tell you which era is over; the era of Vintage Canuck starting all important news threads! #gome
Rick Grimes
Gretzky, Orr, Brodeur. Best Goalie of all time, its a shame he tainted the end a little bit by going to St. Louis.
Pears
Right decision, but maybe made a year too late. Happy retirement regardless.
poetica
Too bad he didn't retire as a Devil, but good for him for finally coming to what I'm sure was an incredibly difficult (but absolutely correct) decision. I hope he enjoys his new career.
EmilyM
In the long run, nobody is going to remember his tenure as a player for the Blues. Dont think it will and shouldn't taint his career at all. I mean Gretzky played for St. Louis for a handful of games and nobody criticizes that decision any more. RonMexico
Gretzky, Orr, Brodeur. Best Goalie of all time, its a shame he tainted the end a little bit by going to St. Louis. I don't think he tainted his career at all. Gretzky, Jordan and Jerry Rice all played for lesser teams at the end of the line and didn't taint their legacies. Phil_314
Yeah sucks that the end of his career in St. Louis wasn't quite so pretty. Good luck Asst. GM Brodeur! Wonder if he could've taken a position with Jersey? I mean he had been there for so long that he should know the management guys there well. D-Money
Jersey must be a mess organizationally. You'd think that Marty would almost certainly have a job there...if he wanted it.
Bombastik der Teutone
Best goalie Ever imo but should have retired as a devil. Good luck With your new job Marty

GLASSJAW
i don't get why some people put so much value in playing an entire career with a team. does it really matter? is it just like a sentimental talking point? how in any way is his career improved or lessened by playing for one, two, three more teams? Coconuts
Damn, I was hoping he'd hit 700 wins somehow. Ahh well, he had a hell of a career. Best goalie ever I'd say, definitely top three at least. The best of luck to him with the Blues.
