desiboynux4lifee*******
If you go through the torts presser, he says,"I let the room get away from me" I feel, the same-thing is happening now under Wille D. Here is why? Today's post game, WD, didn't once blame the top guys. He said things like, "they tried and worked hard?" really okay. Check out these stats from the core minus the sedins. Janick Hansen - 3 -points in the month of January Higgins - 4 points in the month of January(with powerplay time) Burrows - 4 points in the month of January (with powerplay time) 1 more thing, most of those guys points came against lower teams like Carolina Hurricanes and the Buffalo Sabres. A rookie: Bo horvat had 2 points in the month of January (w/o powerplay time) I think, its time to admit what the real problem is with this team. Its the "core" and what is worst; Willie D is making a rookie coach mistake by trusting these guys. Honestly, start benching the veterans because I don't see what they have done to be in the line up. Go listen to Torts presser, he was 100 percent right. He stated, "I think the some of the core needs to change" So, we get rid of Kesler? Time to start benching the 3 guys I mentioned above or trade them because they are the ones who are hurting this team big time.

Outsiders
Higgins and Burrows should be traded, they're not second liners anymore.

TheXFactor
Not sure I agree but I understand where you're coming from. Problem is if WD benches core players, a lot of people could turn on him.
nuck nit
Henrik -9 goals Daniel-10 goals Radim-19 goals Burr- 10 goals Kesler (core) is gone. If you add in his replacement (Bonino) this list the top goalscorers on this club. They are also leading forwards in age and 'core'. The core is not the problem. Secondary scoring,PP and offense from the defense are the scoring problems. So,like Tortorella, you are blowing smoke.
PhillipBlunt
The core minus Edler and Hamhuis are the only personnel worth keeping going forward. Why none of these coaches have shown real cajones by benching one or both of the twins, Burrows, Higgins, Bieksa is beyond me. This idea that no matter how $&!#ty you play, you're guaranteed ice time is counterproductive. It shows the rookies that the leadership group isn't comprised of leaders, but entitled floaters. The defence get the puck through on the pp? Tell me what do the guys infront do? Lose puck battles and the pucks gone. Also, how many goals has the 2nd unit scored? RRypien37
Higgins and Burrows should be traded, they're not second liners anymore. Higgins never was a 2nd liner. For what ever reason, Willie D seems to think he is. Higgins has been a permanent lock on the 2nd line....without any resistance. Every year it's the same thing. We have 3 to 4 top 6 forwards. Junkyard Dog
WD is doing the best he can with the group we have. Unfortunately the group we have hasn't been able to do the best they can. 3 coaches same results.

WilliesStache14
or maybe the coaching hasn't been the problem and it's the players..! let's not be like edmonton and go through 5 different coaches thinking the team isn't the problem
viking mama
My only fear is that WD is too nice. We'll see how this season plays out though. I think Willie and JB are more on the same page,.. than Torts and Gillis ever were. I think there's communication goin' on all-around. JB's discussions with Kassian prove that..it's a hands-on group. It's also a testing-time to see what they have available to give and what they want to keep,.. before the trading deadline. They'll find their guys and then move others along. In TL, JB, and WD....we should trust.

smithers joe
why aren't the cdc coaches running this team?...only they know the game and what this team needs... let's admit it, we don't need a gm or coaches...what do they know?

WD and JB want to see what the vets have and give them a chance before they start making more moves. This core group convinced management that they had what it took to win in the west. They have been given that chance and we are all seeing that those days are past. Too old, slow and worn out. Sure they can have some performances that remind us of what they are capable of but they just can't do it consistently or against the better teams.I mean, they barely beat the Sabres who were playing their 3rd game in 4 nights!! The leaders talked about not being happy with that performance and come out tonight and lay another 50 minute egg. I believe the desire is still there but they just donèt have the horses any more.
