captaincowbasher
I think J.B. is probably rubbing his hands together thinking of the possibility of landing E.Kane, this would be huge for this franchise, a legit 30 goal scorer whom plays that heavy physical brand that this town has been craving for years. As well Virtanen will be here next year with the same type of game. Horvat is already looking like a stud and getting better with every shift. I think the future is looking very bright for this club, the Sedins will over the next couple of years transition into a very good second line threat. The two trades I'm going to propose might hurry this transition along. Trade 1. Higgins- still capable of 20 goals, but redundant here Lack- will be a very good number 1 for Matt Read-RW, legit 20 goal guy with lots of upside, underachieving at 3 mil. Trade 2. Kassian- unknown upside, could be an amazing Jet Jensen- speedy, skilled + size 2nd 2015, 2nd 2016 for E.Kane, LW, legit 30 goal guy with lots of upside New look lines: Kane Bonino Read Sedin Sedin Vrbata Matthias Horvat Burrows Hansen Richardson Vey Come trade deadline deal Richardson for a 2nd- LA maybe also deal Burrows at the deadline as we will be sellers and Burrows could help a team like the Penguins and they just might let a 1st and a prospect go to get him. The rational in trading Burrows is that Virtanen will be ready for 3rd line RW next year and Shinkurak will be ready for 3rd line LW. It's all about timing and asset management and a sprinkle of luck. Flame away haters...

Maybe Lack for Kane straight up. He is a gamble though because he is not only in the coaching staffs doghouse but he also has some issues with his teammates. Better yet, why would they trade for another goalie? Michael Hutchinson is 24 and is a better goalie than Eddie is, then you have Pavs who is a very capable NHL goaltender as well. timberz21
Neway, Kane is injured and might require surgery. Jets would get a better return if they wait at the draft, and also let the recent benching controversy fade out.
ice orca
Lol Kassian is a headcase the Canucks can't fix but Kane is a headcase they can. If this kid wasn't from Vancouver this tread wouldn't exist. As one person put it he is becoming a walking bandaid, all the tools but getting into made of glass territory. Would i like him on the Canucks.. yeah maybe but not at the expense of some of these proposals. He was just put on ir again.

Oh, sure he's come close, but he hasn't hit the 20 goal mark with the Canucks. Higgins has to go as well, but not now, he does eat up some valuable PK minutes and, aside from the last couple games, is generally a strong defensive player... But he's got to go in the offseason...
