Sympathy for Season Tix/Game Pack Holders

I want to express my sincere sympathies for all the season ticket and game pack holders who have doled out hard-earned money to have to watch a team that fails to show up for important home games.

My wife and I gave up our season tix after the lock out season, mainly because we moved from our condo in Coopers Lookout along False Creek right next to BC Place/Rogers Arena to White Rock, but we are glad that our life circumstances led to the decision to cancel.

I could only imagine how bitter and angry some of the season ticket and game pack holders must be feeling given how indifferent the Sedins-led core are playing, especially at home. Sincere sympathies for those who have spent thousands this season to watch an apathetic core of aging hockey players.

Clearly you weren't a season ticket holder in the 80s... :picard:

First world problems, where I'm sure there are many people who have trouble being able to afford going to even one game yet would love to see them even if they lost. Get off your high horse and remember just what it is you're complaining about.

There's that awesome self righteous CDC attitude. In the 80s,Canucks tickets weren't priced in the top 5 in the league.

My guess is that ticket prices have gone up at a much higher rate than inflation and as a result, taking a family or date to a game this day and age is much more burdensome than the 80s.

I don't think he's complaining about anything lol

Got to see my second ever game last year and despite the loss it was probably the highlight of 2014 for me. It was row 2 so that made it especially awesome. Equipment manager gave me one of the warm up pucks so that was awesome. My dream is to one day see a home game so yeah, I'm not too sympathetic for the people who get to see all of them.

The thing about season tix is that....if you buy them, then you can afford them. It's not like people who have seasons tix are shorting themselves of food, clothing and shelter to have them. It's disposable income, of which some people have more than others. They don't deserve sympathy, low-income folks who struggle to make ends meet do.

Sure it is, but the on ice product has been a lot (and I mean a lot) better the last decade or so. If you can't recognize that and still want to complain about tickets you no longer even own when the team isn't doing as well, then I have no sympathy.

If anything someone wanting to take their family or a date to a game but not being able to because of the cost should strengthen my point, that people who have disposable income to spend on seasons tickets shouldn't complain if they watch a stinker. Imagine all the people that'd love to be there in their place.

Passive aggressive complaining, hiding team criticisms behind sympathetic thoughts.

Good for you. I go once every year or two and will be at the game this Saturday. My first game ever was at the Coliseum when we were playing the Kings and I got to see Gretzky beat us. I've never regretted going to a game ever.

Here's a suggestion for anyone who holds tickets and wants to complain about the on ice product to the point of requiring sympathy: find a worthy charity and donate your tickets for the rest of the year.

Thanks, I know what you mean. Not trying to be a dick, I'll always support the team since they're the home town team, but man, it hurts. Bought season tickets this year and was really happy in the beginning. Now, it's pretty sad. I've luckily been selling my seat to some guy who wants to go occasionally and he's pretty consistent. Get my money back and don't have to waste my time. I'll go to a select few games and that's about it.

I love management and understand what they're doing is a process, but just going to the game is lame now imo.

Getting tired of bandwagon jumpers... Ugh.

Again. Stop with this bandwagoning nonsense garbage. Do you honestly think there are any bandwagoners on this team anymore?? We crashed and burned last year. Our team is EXTREMELY boring to watch. The only people supporting the Canucks now are the people who are willing to go through winning AND losing.

Seriously. Anyone who still thinks there's bandwagoners on the Canucks is really stupid and in denial.

I gotta disagree. Check out any PGT to see band wagoners are still going strong. After every win, we are gonna win the cup. Every loss, Blow it up!

I bought an 11 game ice pak to be considered a season ticket holder I assume.... and every one of the games I've got, we have lost. Doesn't seem like the trend will be broken soon with Boston coming up. I don't really care though. I'm still supporting the team and I bleed blue and green and I don't mind losing... But at the very least, I wanna seem some effort. Makes up for the loss.

Or maybe it's the one who doesn't see what's in front of him that's the stupid one? Some fans in this town are clearly only here for the win.. Whereas the rest of us are here to cheer on our team win or lose... Cause that's what a fan does!

Uh, that's kinda what a bandwagoner is if you only support the team when it's winning. We were winning again to start the year and now that times are tough again they're ready to risk broken ankles jumping off to beat the rush.

And that's absolutely fine - we all want to see the effort improve. So long as people aren't crying "woe is me" at having paid for tickets when they're losing then they have full rights to criticise the on ice product constructively.

I'm going to game against Boston and I'm really excited about it. Even though the team isn't playing the greatest right now, I love going to games.

I am from the Island though, so it's a little more special for me.
