AriGold
As we can all expect an Evander Kane proposal. I have reviewed this trade from both sides and see the fit being perfect with the teams styles. This trade would be completed at the 2015 Draft. : Zack Kassian + Chris Higgins + Hunter Shinkaruk + VAN 2nd 2015 : Evander Kane Winnipeg has a good defensive core and getting Kassian and Higgins will let Buff go back on defense full time. Please let me know your thoughts on this trade !
Sedintwinpowersactivate
that is too much for vancouvers side. that is kassian mid first rounder, higgins mid first rounder, shinkaruk late first rounder, 2nd rounder Kassian and shinkaruk are young all for Evander Kane (drafted #5 1st round) attitude problems risky to a room

TheRussianRocket.
Way too much. It's an underperforming Kane with horrible attitude who isn't locker room friendly. There was a report a few days that said all it can take for Evander is just 1 solid prospect. Obviously teams have to send cap back again so a replacement for Kane and a prospect should be more than enough. Anything more than that you want to stay away as far as possible. CanuckMan10
Take out our second and I'd probably do it. Depth wise we're still fine as Kane will step in for Higgy and Kass can't even crack the line up anyways. Kane's only 23 which is barely older than shink so it's not like our future 1/2 line LW is being sacrificed either. Sedin/Sedin/Vrbata Kane/Bonino/Burrows Mathias/Richardson/Vey Hansen/Horvat/Dorsett Kennins and Jensen in case of injury Top 2 lines are unreal. JB likes that we get bigger, we don't give up the future and we give our vets a solid chance at the post season. Maybe we toss in a D-man if this isn't enough. Vancouver pays a little bit more than I would like; but considering what we're getting, and the performance of Higgins + Kassian, and the fact that I don't think Shinkaruk will be anything amazing, I like this, I like this alot. TheRussianRocket. Evander Kane’s rocky relationship with the only NHL team he’s ever known appears to have reached a boiling point. Though the talented sniper is just 23 years old and already has a 30-goal campaign under his belt, the Winnipeg Jets may be willing to deal him in exchange for a single top asset, according to scouts. Sportsnet insider Chris Johnston tweeted the following Thursday morning: Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff had previously been believed to be asking for an A-grade asset plus another piece (a prospect, roster player or draft pick). AriGold
That proposal has to be a joke. That's way too much. Plus as mentioned, he's out for the rest of the season. A joke ? You really think this is so far fetched that is's a joke ? I bet you think Weber and a 5th would get Kane. Evander Kane is capable of 50-60 points a season and is a hard working in the corner type of guy that we seriously lack. Higgins is a career 3rd line winger whos on the 2nd line because let's be honest, we have 2 3rd lines. Kassian has 2 goals this season, where is his value really ? Shinkaruk has 15 points in 42 games in the AHL currently and his stock is about a 3rd or 4th round pick. So to say this is a joke is completely wrong. Phil_314
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/scouts-price-on-evander-kane-has-dropped-winnipeg-jets-trade-deadline/ Wonder what Chevy would consider a "top asset"? I'd do it if Trader Jim can pull off Pizza, Hulk, Abs and pick if needed for Money Phone and Harrison. We don't have enough "top assets" to surrender but we can put together a decent package. Abs replaces Money Phone in their forward group, Pizza's still young and can play on the left side, and it depends on who they would have on their L.D. (Enstrom, Chiarot, Stuart, Sbisa). If we decide to sell low on Hulk then why not package him for another buy-low guy? Harrison has played top minutes on a crappy team in Carolina before so he'll be more reliable, physical, mobile depth for cheap. Kane - Hank - Burr (Would be similar to what Boston had, two gritty shooting wingers with play-maker) Danny - Bones - Vrbata Matthias - Horvat - Vey Hansen - Richie - Dorsett Edler - Tanev Hammer - Juice Stanton - Clendening Harrison - Weber

While I agree with almost everything you say, just not the Shinkaruk part. In Utica, Green is giving Shink (& Gaunce) 3rd/4th line minutes. He's monitoring their play on a game to game basis and is actually developing them. I know people hope to see Hunter tear up the stats and he could easily be slotted on to the top 6 but the Canucks and JB have a different approach and I'm all in for it. ...so, Hunters stats are really indicitave of his trade value. He wouldn't be traded for anything less than an early 2nd round pick and most likely won't be. And Higgins is a 3rd liner agreed but his value is probably as high as it'll be during the rest of his career. Best to trade him now imo.

AV.
If this proposal is the price to get Kane, I'd do it without even thinking. 3rd line winger that's capable of playing 2nd bottom six winger that could move up if he ever figures it out boom or bust top six prospect and a pick for an already top 6 winger, that is young, and signed long-term. Snake Doctor
Vrbata for Kane stright up. We are not going to make the playoffs. Kane is out until next season. Helps both teams. Winnipeg gets a proven sniper for the playoffs. Kane gets out of Winnipeg. There cap hits are close.
zombieksa
Change Higgins to sbisa. They still get two roster players, but we give a cap dump instead. If Higgins is going to be moved wait until off season, especially if Kane goes through with surgery. I'd also prefer to move Jensen over shink as he will be waiver eligible next season whilst shink won't. Kass+Jensen+sbisa+2nd, realistically all 3 players could jump into lineup tomorrow. You say Kane is capable of great things and then call what we're giving up basically crap. Yet if you look at the other side of the fence Kane is an intolerable brat who can't get along with team mates or follow rules and is currently injured for 4-6 months. How would you perceive the value of someone described like that? I'm not saying Weber and a 5th will get it done either, but there's no way we throw a bunch of pieces at Winnipeg and hope it sticks either. I'd do Hansen, Jensen and a 2nd though. Change Higgins to sbisa. They still get two roster players, but we give a cap dump instead. If Higgins is going to be moved wait until off season, especially if Kane goes through with surgery. They really don't need another defenceman, and Jensen I think is waiver eligible in 2016/17.

DrChill
Personnaly, the time to trade for him is now. Give Wpg depth for playoffs, and his price will be cheaper with the risk. Higgins/Hansen Kassian 2nd should be enough for Kane
Langdon Algur
Is this a proposal for Evander Kane or Patrick Kane? Based on what Vancouver is giving up it makes more sense for Patrick, over payment for Evander.
