Hi,I am new to this forum, so my first post is really just questions in the form of a Poll to find out what CDC really thinks.

So assuming the Canucks play 50 /50 for the remaining month of Feb. where do you see the Canucks sitting in the standings come the March deadline.

Personally, I can't figure what team we have here, we play better against the better teams and worse against the weaker teams. One thing for sure is we will still be close to the last playoff spot one way or another.

So, I will ask a few questions and see what you all think?

Yes, how the heck I forgot Kassian? LOL....good point! I changed my vote because of that! Geesh!

I think we should sell. I think anyone buoyed by a big win last night is deluding themselves.

We will be outside of the playoffs within 2 and 1/2 weeks in my opinion and any attempt to shore up the core with rentals or high priced purchases over the age of 25 sends us into Calgary territory circa 2009-2013.

To many good teams behind us starting to surge, to many good teams ahead of us to count on one failing and to many teams needing vets for us to discount selling in.

If we make the playoffs BOON. But our goal should not now nor ever be mediocrity.

You must be watching an entirely different Canucks team than I am. The Canucks have won their fair share of games vs. the teams they are supposed to beat (with a few exceptions -- ARZ, COL and DAL) and have struggled against the better teams in the league (with a few exceptions -- MTL, PIT, CHI).

Notwithstanding their win over the Pens last night, I'm expecting the same trend to continue for the rest of the month, so I expect them to go 5-5 for the rest of February. That would give them a record of 61GP-34W-24L-3OTL-71PTS, which should put them in the play off hunt.

I also expect the Canucks to go .500 from March 1 to the end of the season, so that gives them 91 points, which will make it tough to crack a wild card spot.

That pretty much puts the Canucks in no man's land on March 1, 2015 where JB would have to determine whether he wants to be a seller or buyer. Based on what we've seen over the past two months, I would say that this edition of the Canucks are in tough to make the playoffs and because they will have had to play at a high level to even qualify for the playoffs, they will be out of gas by the time the first round rolls around (meaning it's probably they'll be one and out).

All this is to say is that, IMO, the Canucks will be better served to be sellers at the deadline than buyers.

Did you absolutely have to answer all the questions? I mean really, once you said you didn't want to do anything, did you have to answer the last one? And I didn't really say we would be trading anyone, just who you would put on the block? Who would you shop?

After all, hypothetically, if one of the say top 4 teams lost their starting goalie and offered you a kings ransom, would you say no to trading Miller?

Incidentally, where did you think we would end up? I think we will end up with about 91 points......I believe this lands us 16, 17, 18....most likely 17th...sure hope I am wrong!

PS.....I do see your point!
